I don't like the choices I'm given to answer in this poll.

I would answer "maybe", but that's not one I can choose.

Is world peace and human sanity possible?

I would answer definitely - if there were millions of Miss Americas crowned!

World peace is a subjective concept.

I look out my window right now it's pretty peaceful.

As you long as you have human beings on this planet you will have conflicts.

Not to say, life can get better for most of the people in the world.

I'm in the Seattle area, but I did have an interesting experience several years ago with Gwen Mayfield Barnard who works at the Portland Org's DSA's office.

Yeah. If we could just settle on how the oil can be divided up in the Middle East so all of mankind will benefit.

If we can get a president in office who can think of better solutions than war.

I don't think that's the solution that Loyal Officer was looking for, TI.

I think it was more along the lines of, "On the day we all reach Clear, there will be peace on Earth."

Awe.

I'm gonna puke.

That reminds me, back when I was being more active in picketing etc., I would have loved to get a stake-bed truck, fill it with styrofoam 'Pods' and drive it around downtown Clearwater or the Hubbway 'complex'.

I think everyone would get the joke, but, what could they bitch about? :)

"On the day we all reach Clear, there will be peace on Earth."

No I don't believe that. I'm not even sure what clear is any more.

Which comes first world peace or world sanity? Is either possible?

In any case I am more of a believer in Mahatma Gandhi than in L. Ron Hubbard.

If the only way to peace is peace then maybe the only way to sanity is sanity.

Sincerely

Loyal Officer

If you want to know what is happining with oil check out peak oil and Marion King Hubbert who predicted the peak in US Oil Production 15 years before it happined in 1970.

World peace and unity is acheivable, it's religion that's preventing it from occurring. John Lennon had it right.

Speaking of "invasion of the Body Snatchers", did you see Nicole Kidman is starring in the remake, called "Invasion" due out later this month in theaters? Oh, boy, more nightmares!

Tch. Yeah. I've liked Nicole for any number of things for years, but, she's fallen into a deplorable 'remake' streak. Stepford wives, Bewitched and now Body Snatchers. Hollywood is worse than ever at coming up with 'new' ideas, or even pale imitations of new ideas.

And, Body Snatchers has *already* been remade, with Donald Sutherland, which was so-so, but, at least had the excuse of doing a 'color' version.

Sheesh; video games, comics, classics. If it was the remaking of movies that were badly *done* I could see it. God knows Phil Dick's books have gotten trashed in the movies, and the closest any has come to the actual book seems to be 'Screamers', which was taken from 'Second Variety'.

I shudder at the thought of 'Invasion', but, not from fear.
