I walked away about 3 years ago. Without your real name, can't say I know you or not. You may know me, since I'm now using my real name and a real pic of myself from about 3 years ago.

Welcome to the board. And congratulations on leaving. It's a big step and quite the process of "de-programming" yourself.

I think I've seen a few posts here and there- more than a few, probably- from people who've left in the last year or two.

Good luck in your search!

Fairly recent for me...slowely over the past couple of years. I lived in LA for about 26 years and was always around PAC.
You can PM me and we can see if we know each other.

If you don't mind saying, which Country or better still which city or org?

I would love to hear recent blows from Gold (Int) Base in Hemet. Anybody lurking? Set up a privacy e-mail anonymous account (try Rock.com) and tell us your stories!

Since you were at PAC, what influence did Anonymous have on the daily activities at PAC? What would management say, did it raise doubt among the ranks? What signs were effective?

Did they see Barney?

Honestly, Anonomous was ignored. They seemed like cooks to us. Disgruntled, out ethics, degraded beings, who were just bent on destruction.

Also the Xenu crowd was ignored as well.

I don't think the costumes or the masks help.

I think they do more to get people not to start than to get them out.

Well then, what did work on getting you out, three months ago?

What in your opinion is working to get others out?

Something must be happening, wasn't the size of the scientology staff shrinking?

How did you come to learn about the freezone? (which I see you visit from another post of yours.) Did you know about your practitioner when you were still in?

1) I didn't like the basics beign shoved down my throat

2) I didn't like them asking for handouts

3) I didn't like them changing the books

4) I didn't like them telling me I had to do the basics before doing anything else

5) I didn't like the sec checks

6) I knew Flag would cost a lot of money that I don't have

7) I thought it was degrading the way people were running around doing "ammends" for nothing

8) It felt like a behavior modification organization.

9) A person I knew got declaired and he is not an SP

10) I didn't like the idea that you could be declaired an SP. You either are or are not.

11) I didn't like that you could be put into a lower condition based on arbitrary rules.

So that is how I drifted away. Even when drifing away I didn't want to go on the internet and read things becasue I knew that I could never go back. So that was a big decision.

Then I talked to my declaired friend and learned about the Free Zone.

Then I started reading and now I am out.
But I am a tech person. I like the tech but not the organization.

And I don't think LRH's rule is law. I will use what I find useful.

Then I was out.

AS FAR AS OTHERS GETTING OUT:

People don't want to rock the boat becasue they do not want to lose "their last chance at eternity".

But the thing that hurts people the most is MONEY

1) Money
I think this makes them drift away, not getting out and looking at the dark side.

I think if they know about the free zone they might get out easier becasue they don't feel that they will lose the tech and the auditing.

It is a gradient. After that then people will get free zone auditing or maybe not.

I personally like auditing and that made a big difference to me.
and the friends who I also got out fell the same as me. I think there are many people in this situation. Once you know there is that safety then you can feel safe to look.

The free Zone is a great gradient to getting one out.

I think Anonymous and the Xenu crowd is too much of a gradient. From having Scientology go from the best thing to an evil thing. Those groups are not real to them.

But auditing is real. And the fact that other people may be able to audit is real. And the fact that it is cheeper is real. And not being treated like a criminal is real.

Maybe a big dissemination of Free Zone auditing would help. I don't know if the Free Aone auditors want that or not. They may prefer to fly under the radar.

Sounds reasonable to me.:D

Many of those same reasons are mine and many others as well. Plus more.

I saw protests when I was on staff in the 90's down in PAC which included Magoo’s. The more calm and respectful the protester the more I was willing to ask what was up. The angrier, aggressive and antagonistic protesters were the more I felt the urge to "defend my religion" (:puke2: ) and shut them out :noevil: :nope: . The Anon masks had an effect and caught my attention. All friendly questions and statements drew my attention.

I was a second generation scilon on staff 7 years. You can’t get in someone’s face with that dedication being rude, antagonistic, confrontational or bizarre.

Just sayin’.

I was on staff at LA Day for 7 years in the 90's. I started researching the info on the net about a year ago. Made my decision a few months ago and just recently came out to my parents.

It’s hard for me to say the exact point I was “out”. I went through a few stages in this process and feel like I still have a ways to go. Give me some hints on who you are…. I have one more family member to speak to before I am willing to identify myself.
