i was wondering if any people would be interested if i started a livejournal community to discuss scientology? it's easier to make posts and follow them, reply to people's comments/threads, and the entries could be made private so only members could read them (help weed out OSA). let me know

Thanks. I looked over that one. If you started a account there for ex-scios, I doubt if I would take part.

Owl, why don't you create a scientology zone at LiveJournal. I've never used that system before, so I don't know if I'd like it or not, but maybe it's great. Hearing about it is one thing, driving it is another. I didn't used to like message boards, until I found this one.
One concern I would have is; if your 'journal' got successful, would scientology harass the LiveJournal people, and try to shut your journal down, like they do everything else they're threatened by. From my point of view, that's not as much of a concern at ESMB, because the software (I think) is open source, and it operates on its own computer. So at least ESMB can go find another provider to run the software on. But with closed source, at LiveJournal, I suspect that may not be an option. Also, with a url like http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/ -- where you don't own the domain name, you never know who's going to buy the LiveJournal.com people out, in which case you'd be at the mercy of the new owner's policies. And even if you could use their software with 'your' own domain name, they still control the software running your system -- so you'd still up against the same issues.

We just purchased Diana's Grove (see their website www.dianasgrove.com ) and they are moving on. We are seeking new members for our community in Missouri- accomodations and food are free in exchange for 4 hours work x 5 days. Small monthly donation needed to help with electricity, taxes, staples - maybe $100 per month or less. The amount depends on how many of us participate. Organic farmer will start growing vegetables next week and needs helpers. This is beautiful land with river, creeks and ponds, lots of acreage, established housing, etc. Ex staff welcome. Our soon to be updated website is www.the-communal-solution.com Contact me for details! (This community is very new so please be patient as we work to update the website.) Your free time is yours and any income you may make during that time will belong to you.
