The news on the radio this morning said that Travolta's plane left last night for Haiti with medical supplies and food. Didn't mention anything about Scientology or any people on board, either doctors and nurses or VMs.

From USA Today:

John Travolta arrived in Haiti today with a plane-load of aid -- six tons of ready-to-eat military food and medical supplies, to be exact.

Using his own Boeing 707 plane, Travolta, who holds a pilot's license, flew his wife, Kelly Preston, several doctors, and Scientology ministers to provide relief.

Local tv news showed him waving and smiling and that he was using his own plane to carry med supplies and personel to haiti, nothing about SCN was mentioned.

Dear EP,

The Volunteer Ministers have already become a stable point for the relief efforts in Haiti, assisting in organizing the new medical teams arriving as well as working in the local General Hospital to organize the lines and deliver assists to those in need.

On Thursday the second charter flight left to Haiti from Los Angeles with more Volunteer Ministers, additional Doctors and other specialists to expand the forces on the ground assisting in Haiti, and a third flight just arrived from JFK. We now have over 100 Volunteer Ministers on the ground.

It is vital that we have the continued assistance of all IAS members to keep these activities going.

Sincerely,

Selina Frick

Sorting though that:
The UN map, updated daily, shows a number of hospitals and relief field hospitals, and the VMs are only at one - the main surgical one in the capital where (heh) journalists go. This isn't a city, it's a COUNTRY with 3 million people.
That makes 5 Church flights plus 2 by Travolta. Hopefully the third NY flight had those who missed the second one on board.
The video in AnonKat's post is Jan 28 and gives a general summary of events so far.
The 'send us money now to pay for stuff' is lies of course. CoS finances are only seperate for tax purposes, the IAS isn't a seperate group financially in reality.

Bullshit.

This makes sound like the VMs have risen to the top of the hierarchy by taking the chaos and making everything run just peachy. If it weren't for them, nothing would be getting done. What bullshit. All they are is more mouths to feed, and more bodies needing security.

Haiti I believe has about 9 million people. With the relief money flowing in from around the world (450 million Euros alone from the EU and God knows how many bucks from US citizens and the US Govmint) the world could make each and every Haitian citizen a millionaire many times over. Why doesn't that happen? The money will disappear like pixie dust and Haiti will be no better off, because corruption knows no shame.

There was enough money given to Katrina victims to make them each as rich as Donald Trump. (exaggeration only tongue in cheek, in reality the aid could have made all quite well off.) Again, some bastards abscond with honestly donated money.

Kind of like Scientology and DM.

The filming of the activity is professionally done. Too proffesional. All you really see is VM's in action carefully filmed to make it appear that they came in and took charge and chaos came to order after their arrival. I saw little or no devastation around the area. It's as if a special little area was set up just to document the activities. A total focus on the VM's, but hardly any other relief groups present. It appears very staged to me.

I will say that the VM that delivered the babies is real. I know her. Her name is Karen Farrell and she is trained as a mid-wife fully certified.

Unfortunately it would not surprise me if she was used as the centerpeice of a PR campaign that was set up with her in the leading role unwittingly.

Karen most certainly would do this only with the idea of truly helping out and I don't doubt for one second that she actually helped deliver babies.

But i am certain in my mind that she was being used as the centerpeice of PR for the church.

It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

The video appears to be of the first VM plane from NY. Yes, of course the PR wonks sent a cameraman and were looking for predictable, managed publicity. I've been surfing around other aid websites and seen the same thing, PR people pumping out trash about all the praise THEIR people are getting.

She's back in Boston now after a week and a writeup of her activities is here:

That is one brave lady.

I don't doubt Karen truly helped either, what I do doubt is scientology's motives in showing these videos. Notice all the happy smiling VMs, keeping scientology working. It's all propaganda.

Yes, so have I, they all do the same.

However, do they (all these other organizations) have RPF where they keep their parishoners if they don't quite live up to expectations, or I wonder how Karen would feel if at a later date she joined the sea org and was told to have an abortion. Somehow I don't think she would like that.

The orgs are failing, so lets hit the disaster zones with a bang, show everyone how scientology can help you with that. Scientology makes me want to puke!

AnonKat,
Great video by Anonynews.

Strangely enough whilst keeping abreast of the VMs and Haiti, I thought what a great idea it would be to fill a plane with volunteers and food and medical supplies and "crash" land in Golden Era Productions.

John Travolta would be doing far more good to take his plane of volunteers to the RPFers. What an eye opener that would be for the VMs, it would also give the scientologists something to really film.

This is a really good idea Sharone. I could get behind this kind of thing. Let's think about it all you SPs!

I know a volunteer leaving soon. The guy is very happy and explained to me all the details. Apparently somebody donated for everything, and they get their white shirts, and are escorted by UN and American soldiers all day long. Then after curfew, which is daily they go to a protected area.

They will be landing in Sto. Domingo, and from there by bus to the main city, all is paid for, meaning, the flight, and food and stay by some Scn. donor.

They are sending out emails and recruiting so to say, another crew may come later on.

It sounds like they are having those in lower conditions donate money for costumes, protection and full scale documentary coverage recycled periodicly for maximum effect so that at the Birthday event the public will see armies of VM's carrying out their duty as the ONLY ones who can help.

P. S. I thought the shirts were yellow.

paul.spiritualquest
31st January 2010, 08:03 AM
Yes, shit, they are yellow of course. :D mistype.

And there are apparently doctors, who already identify the yellow guys, so to say...

Its like not a main push line, as far as I got from the talk, just the real volunteers go there, the guy will stay 2 months there.

What I found amazing is how this runs on so many layers, if you get what I mean? The guy is really into going for the help, then there is the donor, who does it for who knows what, then the whole PR thing. The main line was that it is VMs, UN and Red Cross in a united effort.

I got a yuck feeling, somethign in the order of NWO, hahaha, if you get what I mean. The main thing is to get the whole PR fully established and position VMs with this and those other groups, and as you say, probably say then later, "the only guys". I agree.

That would by the airport where the 'base camps' are. I finally located other VMs at the Miami Uni tent hospital:
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/world/haiti-in-relief-a-reporter-s-notebook-204783.html

"They are running the big supply tent here, which is a tough, thankless job," Kelley said. "You can think what you want about their beliefs, but they work their tails off in these situations."
