I found this rather amusing article, so I though I'd post it here. The translation isn't perfect, but I did my best.

Scientology before court due to unpaid rent
Landlord Libra has started a summary procedure against Scientology. The movement has a back rent of 78.000 euros.
That's what The Telegraaf (a Dutch newspaper) said on Tuesday. Yesterday in the summary procedure evacuation was demanded from the building on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and payment of the back rent.
It's the second time that Libra goes to court to force payment. "Sometimes it takes a long time, but up until now they have always come forward with the money. The summary procedure is a foot in the door for us", said Libra's lawyer.
A spokesman for Scientology says not to be very worried about the debt. "We are doing more important things, like a project with which we help 11-year old children to get rid of their drug addiction." On Thursday the judge will decide what is to be done.
Scientology has about 500 members in the Netherlands. The movement is controversial because it is said to be a cult that is supposed to brainwash and fincancially ruin its followers.

Scientology sued for rent arrears
April 27, 2010
The landlord Libra (Libra International bv) has filed a "kort geding" (interim injunction proceedings) against Scientology. The movement is facing a rent arrears of 78,000 euros. De Telegraaf (dutch newspaper) reported this Tuesday.
Yesterday were demanded the interim measures of evacuation of the building on the Damrak and payment of arrears of rent. It is the second time that Libra gets to go to court to force payment. "Sometimes it takes a long time, but until now they always come with money on the table. The case is a big stick for us," said the Libra lawyer.
A spokesperson says Scientology is not woried about the debt. "We are busy with more important things, like a project where we help children eleven years old to come of their addiction." Thursday, the court ruling. Scientology in the Netherlands has about 500 members. The movement is controversial because it is said to be be a cult that brainwashes and financially undresses followers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Really? We're busy helping children get off drugs, so we haven't paid our rent. What typical BS from the CofS.

I'm not going to reply in this thread. I have more important things to do, like breathe, and spit occasionally.

OK, well let's see... 78,000 euros... 500 members... hey! they'd only have to reg 156 euros in donos from each member to get the rent paid. Maybe a tad more for court costs and attorneys' fees. Surely the ablest beings on the planet can manage to do that, even while saving our sorry butts, right? :roflmao:

You know when the Church says 500 you need to divide by at least 5

Well, OK. So it might be a little bit harder to raise the money. But don't the members have credit cards and equity in their houses? Come on -- "do it for Ron." :p

Dutch mentality may even override Scilon Indoctrination in this Case:
The Dutch mentality can be typified best with this statement: act normal, than you're acting crazy enough. In general the Dutch don't like extravert behaviour, and moderation in all things is greatly appreciated. The Dutch like honesty and openness and do not beat around the bush. They are thrifty with their money and make their decisions after ample consideration. It may take a while to become friends, because Dutch people prefer to know what they are dealing with. But once you've concluded a friendship, Dutch people work hard toward maintaining that friendship.

That is wonderful news. So I don't expect scn ever did a survey to find this out. And even if they did, how would they apply it it? "Honesty... honesty... let's see, how can I mock that up?"

Ostentation and boastfulness are frowned upon, orderliness and cleanliness are highly valued, and showing off one’s wealth is still considered inappropriate. Decisions are not taken without giving all those involved a chance to voice their opinion. In many houses, the curtains are left open after dark, signifying there is nothing to hide. The Dutch regard secretiveness with suspicion.
