Say what you will about her for her Cof$ involvement, etc ... but kudos to her for beating her weight problem, may she keep it off. It's encouraging news for all of us who are overweight and pushing 60.

That's a small picture. She is and was a good looking girl but IMO she whines and that takes five points off her 1-10.

Yeah, I hope this time it 'sticks'. She has lost a lot of weight. That said, I saw a blurb on TV, and correct me, anyone, if I got this wrong - she is claiming she is now in a size 4 ? I don't think so, Kirstie. But I'd believe 12 or 14 . . . Where is she buying her clothes? Is her stylist ripping out labels and sewing in a more flattering size to massage her ego? Does she have a stylist? I don't know, but I know that ain't no 4 . . .

I suggest that every man here admit the truth - that when they saw Kirstie Alley on Star Trek Search for Spock they had visions of a 1/2 Vulcan 1/2 Romulon Lt. Saavik giving way to all of those lewd and lavicious dark desires and and offering herself up to be taken for a ride, Earthman style.
Admit it.
I admit it.

She looks divine on the pictures, I loved the outfit and the make up everything! Many at her age wish they look soooo good!

actually she does not appear to have lost very much weight - the outfit is flattering, no doubt about it and the make up job that has been sandblasted onto her face would make Obama look like Twiggy but if you actually look at her you will see that she is not all that slim.
That she may have lost some weight - possible, she does that a lot, she also gains weight at a sightly higher rate.
Did you check out the comments on TMZ? Looks like the cofs was in full wow mode. Either that or Mary and the Acolytes were cruisin'

My problem with Kirstie is that she is not the best argument for the OT levels.
I struggled with my weight for years, too. But I freely admit that I'm nothing like what an OT should be. Has Kirstie admitted that? Has the cult?
Now, that having been said, since it's my only reservation about this, kudos to Kirstie. I know how tough it can be. I do. And I know what it's like to have people on the internet (and in other places) posting about how fat the person is. That doesn't help a person lose weight or deal with the problem.
I'm truly happy for her.
But she is not a good argument for the OT levels...I'm not trying to be a bitch or anything, that's just how I see it.
Apart from Scn stuff, I hope that she can break the cycle of losing/gaining it back/losing it again. That's not easy, either.

I never met Kirstie in person but from the pics I've seen I think she looks great for a 60 year old woman.
But I don't like it on ANY woman when the makeup looks like it's 1/8th inch thick and just really looks unnatural.
I look forward to meeting her in person when she escapes from the cult.
Kirstie, we're here waiting for you!

You KNOW you want to get away!
When is NOW the best time to stop letting a destructive cult from using your name to promote itself?

Oddly, what used to be a size 14 IS now a size 4.
And this is true of any womens clothing.
Marilyn Monroe wore size 12 to 14 in her day. Today she'd wear a 4.....maybe a 2.

Likewise. She really is a nice lady. She, as many adawaydicts do, traded addictions - she replaced coke with food and scn did/has done jack shit about her ( or anyone elses ) addictive personality.
That she has now gotten the weight off - well good on her !
Hopefully, she'll walk away from the cult soon.

The sizing has changed, yes, but not 5 sizes. Today's size 4 is like the old size 6 of yore, or a pre 1960s 8.
I see a lot of before/after diet ads where women are claiming to be a size 4 and are clearly not, although they look quite nice.

I have no idea what size Kirstie is now - she looks nice.
And what she wore before ? I didn't know Omar put sizes on his tents.
Perhaps she is the first woman in history to fudge a little on her dress size ?

Not unless one is paying like $400 for a t-shirt, or $5000 for a simple suit, or $20,000for a dress like theone she is wearing. THEN the sizes change, and a regular public 14 becomes a rich person's size 4 . . . I mean all that money has to pay for something . . . It ain't in the product.

Couture and semi couture sizes often run a bit smaller, I've found. They are more true to size. I know that when I look at See By Chloe outfits, for example, I definitely have to go up a size.
Marilyn Monroe was said to be a 10 to a 12 back then which would probably be like an 8 now...and if anyone ever saw the nude pic she had done before she became famous, quite quite slender and beautiful.

While it is true that she has slimmed down, between the outfit and the hair style she still looks like she dropped in from the planet Fargon. Perhaps she could assist Captain Kirk in circling around Uranus picking up Klingons.

The easiest way to lose a hundred pounds is to let your reg know that's the balance in your savings account.
(Which causes me to think that if poor old Ron had come up with a 'religion' that wanted people's body fat, instead of their money, he'd be a national hero. You know, I may have to start a 'religion' of my own, where you get to 'donate' your fat. Subcutaneously. Maybe I'll call it the Church of Elvis.)

You can set up the International headquarters in Las Vegas.....you will probably have a full house on your opening day. With all the Elvis look alikes, it would probably look quite interesting with all the paritioners dressed alike with a white suit, long side burns, sun glasses, and carrying a guitar, with the choir singing "I ain't nothin' but a hound dog". You could put it on TV and tell people that if they send you money you will send them a piece of Elvis's guitar. I wonder how much people would pay for a little splinter of wood with a drop of varnish on it? :eyeroll:
If they donate enough fat, maybe you could start a candle business...have the paritioners make the candles and then sell them to the paritioners after they have finished making them. Then the paritioners can wander around town at night, with their burning candle in one hand and the other hand outstretched, palm up, begging for donations to the Church of Elvis.
Oh, excuse me.....this thread is about Kirstee Alley losing weight, not about Elvis. I guess I got carried away here. Maybe I need to get a life. :p

It just goes to show what dancing will do to keep one trim. She's recently finished Dancing with the Stars in the US. That is a very intensive 7 hours a day 6 days a week training for about 4 months.
She does look much better and healthier. I hope she can keep it off. Maybe keep up her dancing?

A size 4? No how, no way. I knew her IRL and she's pretty tall. If she were a size 4 she'd be a stick.

In Australia we must be behind the times because we still use sensible sizing for our clothes down here. A size 10 is tiny.
How can anyone wear a size 0? Unless they are playing the King in "The Emperor's new clothes."
As for Kirsty, ANYONE can lose weight; keeping it off is the real challenge.
Sorry, for her that's a FLUNK.

She is 60, so what do you want? How many 60 year old women are attractive enough for your average guy to shtup? Just to let you know ... I turn 58 pretty soon. One of the downsides of being 58 ... either you are married to or have something with a gal your own age, and have to deal with that ... or you find something younger. Younger means, say, age 40. Younger than that and the odds are there will be problems relating to her reality in any way shape or form. To some guy who is in his early 20's, the idea of a gal who is 40 is putrid in and of itself, but, to a guy who is 58, 40 is an attractive younger woman. And what is the downside there? Constantly looking over your shoulder and/or having the right attractant, which, of course, is, say, 8 figured total assets and a 7 figure annual income or more. If that seems high it is because I have a realistic view about inflation.
So what is the moral of the story? Why am I rambling on? I appreciate and laud the fact of Kirstie Alley's weight loss, and her commitment now to a healthy lifestyle ... inspite of the fact that I still wouldn't want to shtup her, not even with your tallywhacker.

Larry King asks why scientology hasn't helped her with her weight problem
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVNnMyV-LM8
I bet they pressured her to "prove" scientology works.
Poor deluded Kirstie. Now the efficacy of scientology will be tied to her weight. Maybe a stint on the RPF with beans & rice will help, if she starts to balloon back up.
Maybe she'll say that Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) is the one who really is in a cult :)

I wonder how much auditing or "handling" that Kirstie has had regarding her weight. I'll bet it's north of $500K. How many times has she walked out of a session, soaring and thrilled that she's finally, absolutely determined the real why of her being fat.
It's interesting that she's resorted to a diet (repeatedly) and has the precise result an average non-scieno has.
Scientology didn't work for her weight issue. Too bad she can't admit it publicly.
How many times was she regged with the promise that auditing would handle her weight.
How many lists?
How many C/S's?
She might look great even be a wonderful person and I guess that's great but as far as this ESMB is concerned, ... Scientology didn't deliver.
Kirstee is lending credibility to a fraud.
How cool is that?

The reality is is that most people on auditing lines put on weight. Sometimes a LOT of weight. I have heard many stories about this from people who have gone to Flag to do their OT Levels or are there on a long auditing program of some kind. You are encouraged to eat 3 meals a day to stay sessionable and there's really no encouragement to exercise. I've been told by people that they put on 50 to 100 pounds doing their OT Levels at Flag.
I think Tory may have been an example of this; I seem to recall she mentioned putting on a lot of weight while she was at Flag.
