Paul,

Thanks. That's interesting. I wish there was a pic so that I could make a positive identification.

Marty had come to the Riverside Mission from the LA Org. He and his girlfriend Linda were my course sups for Levels 0-IV. (It was called the LA ORG extension at the Riverside Mission. A mission was not allowed to deliver 0-IV.)

Marty finally joined Riverside Mission staff and was Qual Sec for awhile.

I liked Marty and considered him to be a friend of mine - although Corky would probably beg to differ with me on his character. Ha.

It looks like he is now in Orange County (Southern California)?
I haven't looked this up BUT I think that there is an org or mission in Orange or thereabouts.

Yes, I think that is him. It's amazing how I have to adjust my brain/thinking for the fact that it has been so many years that we are all so much older now. We were in our early 20s way back then... now we are in our early 50s.

Orange County Org was, at one time, the most successful Class V org in the world. It certainly made the most GI.

That was when John Woodruff was the ED and Dave Petit was the D/ED.

I knew her well - we were on staff in the Melb Org in 1962.

Saw her several times over the years.

Last talked to her about 8 years ago. She was living in Bev Hills, doing very well as a voice coach......she had some top celebs as her clients.

She was a great lady.

I missed this Alan. Gosh...I d love to speak with her one day. I was living in Beverly Hills 7-8 years ago myself. (Burton Way)
I do recall her singing as well.
She was an angel....and someone I could trust.
Liz got me to buy all my services---and I have no problem with it at all.

I recall clearly one day she told me confidentially how upset she was----Ron had made her son wear a dirty rag around his arm aboard the Apollo.
It was quite traumatic.....I felt So bad.
I guess she trusted me and needed to get it off her chest.

Every single friend/family member I sent to see her signed up-right on the spot.

She would bend the rules here and there.
We were all so attracted to her charisma. One day she took a challenge
and produced a rock slam for us neophytes to demonstrate the Meter/tech.
That was pretty dramatic...

She set an example of how wonderful a "Clear" was. right? heh.
I now know better of course.

She was living with an OT boyfriend who came over from Saint Hill (?)
at the time.
she must really be up there in the years...

Ike Kezbaum was our Mission ED...who died a few years back I believe.

She still looks like a beautiful Hollywood movie star.

She has an escort usually as she is failing with memory.

She has written a manuscipt about her entire adventures in Scientology.

She was in a QandA about whether to distribute it last time we spoke.

If you want to send her a message send it to me private email and I will forward it to her caregiver.

I'm pretty sure I met her at St. Hill in the late 60s early 70s. She was div 6 PR
very blond almost white hair, I have no idea if that was a natural colour. She was always very charming and showed new people around and I recall her talking about public speaking TRs. She wouldn't remember me as I was just some div 6 person coming down for some weekend services. But I remember this glamorous very friendly person. The photo looks somewhat similar to how I recall her, but she was much younger then.

Hana and Jerry Whitfield

If you know the amount of years they did, helping get people extracted from cults, you know they "paid their dues" in aces.

They are pretty much retired.

People who are close close friends, feel free to contact me, I'll connect you if you are old friends.

Like Jesse Prince, Hana and Jerry have "given at the office" to such a degree, they are getting on with enjoying life!

Try being in the limelight, and you will see how taxing it is. Once someone has devoted so much time to something, one wishes to get on and enjoy life a bit rather than being fulltime media source, etc.

Pat Broeker, he's living near family and definitely gotten on with life, with NOTHING to do with Scn! I don't know of anyone that's contacted him in recent years except there's the Robert Vaughn Young contact that Vaughn posted about in the 1990s I believe.

Ann Broeker Tidman was last a Pgms Ops in CMO Int, over Gold, that was as of the end of 2006. She's up at Int.

Thank you Chuck for informing us and for being a trustworthy relay point for many of us. Please tell them that many of us really appreciated what they did. We all benefit from what they did – yet they paid the high prices for it and I feel I owe them something.

I still hope Pat Broeker will write his memories one day, he may help us to answer many of our questions about LRH and CoS, but I’m happy he is on with his life. I don’t feel like enforcing anyone to take responsibility for his previous actions.

I'm not sure if making people wrong for not speaking up works to get them to speak up.

I think whoever can elicit communication out of the major past figures, and ongoing major "principle" figures in the movement, more power to them.

I hope Pat at least does writings or DVD recordings of himself speaking which he allows be released after he's deceased, in case any of the events he was part of and observed were incriminating, etc, etc. That way the history makes it into the public domain.

No. It probably doesn't.

And when I use the word "responsibility" I don't mean it in the glue-like way that Hubbard used it on us.

What I mean is that when you see all the people who have had large swaths of their minds and lives taken away by Scientology, and you can, as an eyewitness, answer so many unanswered questions for them, it's just not right to walk away and leave them unanswered.

Whether that's a make-wrong or not is up to Pat to decide.

I don't mean it that way. I mean it from an objective standpoint. And not the kind of objective where you "Look at that Wall" "Thank You" "Turn Around" "Thank You" "Look at that Wall" "Thank You" "Turn Around", "Thank you", either.

I mean it from a standpoint that any decent human being would see.

I know that, for me, even as a lowly ED from Peoria, it would have been totally wrong to walk away and not speak out. So, I hope Pat Broeker thinks about it, and thinks about the position he is in to do a lot of good for a lot of people.

Just by answering some questions for them.

Yes, I personally have been heading South with Scientology for years. Driving it straight down the tubes. In a southerly direction.

Me and all the other ED's in Scientology.

GAT has been a turbo-charger on our engines. To head south.

With Scientology.

You were an ED? No wonder the CoS has been going South for years. But this doesn't really surprise me, I've rarely found anyone outside of highly trained tech staff who had a clue about the subject. And with GAT even that certainty is fading.

haiqu

actually the "highly trained tech staff" rarely had a clue about anything - including Scientology. A lot of them thought there the "tech" could be separated out from the rest of Hubbard's insanity.

To become "highly trained" was to become "highly brainwashed". Not "highly able".

The "highly trained" people who later became some of the better names - Alan on this list, Amos and some others seem to have been sane, intelligent capable individuals BEFORE they became "highly trained" not because of it.

After all - how could one possibly be a highly trained individual and support such a stupid "organization" as the Church of Scientology? I mean, sheesh, Hubbard couldn't have organized a piss up in a brewery - well if he had "organized" it it would have taken 3 people to write the policies and the "tech". Two more to type it all up, then one person to review it, another to authorize it , one more to print it up, one more to distribute it. One more to cancel it all for being "squirrel", three missionaires to assign people conditions and to report back to the mother ship and a lot of meetings. The beer would evaporate before Hubbard could even get around to the party.

And then Hubbard could have released a new rundown explaining how he had organized piss ups in breweries way back down the whole track before anyone else had ever heard of a brewery. In fact he invented brewing.

Does anyone know where those people are now?

I know this list is awefully long... but 17 years in the SO/Scientology do give one a lot of contacts.... and I am looking for those friends...
I would be very greatful for any information about their whereabouts or any other information...

Helen Astrupgaard

I know this probably doesn't help, but there were Astrupgaard and Hickey kids in the SO at PAC 4-5 years ago... and I think there were a few Hickeys on public lines at ASHO or LA Org too.

Morten has been around reg lines since he got onto staff at DK Org. Liz was the CO DKD and FDN at the time, she used to be married to Ib Nygaard back then. Both the Astrupgaards and the Nygaards were well known families of Scientologists. One of Morten's sisters, Anna is married to Jens Uhrskov who used to be Snr C/S Dk Org before he joined the SO at FOLO EU and then went to INt as D/ED Int.

Anybody know what happened to Barbara... Ellingson? Auditor at ASHO in late 80s, waist-length black hair. Or Toby, was the chaplain there same time.

Another friend I've always wanted to find again was Janelle Shipp. She married Oscar Candia and got pregnant, left because she wouldn't have an abortion (good for her) and I think she had a son. She used to be at Snr HCO WUS, in the 90s, and had family in Oregon or thereabouts. I miss her.

Jeremiah Deering, in Div 6 at ASHO late 90s, was declared sometime around 2001ish... we used to hang out in CF and sneak off base to get fatburger, man those were good times.

Monet Barendsen, was ASHO HAS for years, declared a couple of years ago....

But Monet was the HAS when I was declared. I hope she didn't get in trouble cause of me. Well, if so, maybe its the best thing that ever happened to her...:happydance: Who knows.

I haven't found out why yet. I've been trying. Supposedly it was "really bad" tho that is what they always say. I'm sure it wasn't because of you, tho.

I feel bad for her because I worry where she would go. Jascha (her husband) stayed in the SO. Her mom is/was on staff. She spent her whole late-childhood / young-adulthood in the SO. All her friends were SO. She was totally dedicated to the point of making herself sick with lack of sleep and so on. What will happen to her? Where will she go? We never got along all that well on post due to mutual stress, but I still was her friend. I wouldn't want her on the street or something.

(Oh, btw, that thing about getting $500 when you leave? I never got any money, and I don't think they are doing that anymore. When I left they told me I owed over $100,000 so maybe they put the $500 toward my "debt"....)

I hope she is okay.

Monet was really close friends with the Chief Off when I was there. The Chf Off was really upset about me - well, really pissed at me. But we had been friends before that. What's her name? She is tall - like Monet. Hmm. Curly redish hair. Dang I suck with names. Maybe from C/Sing too many folders. I remember people by the insides of their folders, not the names on the outside. Too many folders passing through.

Jasha was an old flame from teen years. What ever happened to his sister, Jade, anyways? Haven't seen or heard from her in years and years.

Funny thing in the SO: I NEVER had a boyfriend who was American. Ever. In the SO. My husband was also not American. I did not date an American until I was out of the SO. (random comment).

Anyways, it wouldn't suprize me if that Chf Off didn't start having some doubts after Monet was declared. She may not outwardly show them, buyt I think they are there. She is smart. I forget her name!!!

She was off staff, living in LA. She was living with/having a 2D with a Scientology public. He was a photographer, and literally old enough to be her father.

It was sad.

Bea Kiddo asked about Greg Moore and his 5 year Flag training cycle. He had to retrain from the ground up on GAT, starting with Pro TRs, Metering, etc. and do all academy levels, C/S courses, SHSBC, which was changed several times while he was there. Add on Interneships, and you see why he was there so long. He got in a few visits home with his wife during that time, but not much. Wow - about Amber and her mom dying -- I always thought she was a hard bitch too, but when you got to know her she was a very caring person. Just "unreasonable". Being in charge of Qual you should be, IMHO.

But the sad thing as I just PMd to Grundy -- she married the ASHO F Cram Off a couple of years ago and then he suddenly died a few months later. He couldn't have been more than 35 yrs old. Tall, gangly guy with odd glasses. Sorry can't remember his name.
