This will be interesting... BUT - for those who aren't in Australia... Channel Nine was run by the late Kerry Packer, father of now Scieno James, friend of The Cruiser.
A Current Affair have been accused in the past (primarily by their current affairs competitor Today Tonight) of being soft on CoS.

Yes, thanks!!! Alert. It's on at 6.30 EST. Check your local TV guides for other timezones. Even if Packer and his mates manage to totally crucify Morton, which I doubt they could do (totally), the proof's in the puddin' 'innit. :)

We had the 2 prime current affairs programs on Australian TV fighting it out tonight!
A Current Affair (http://optuszoo.news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=369342&_cobr=optus) did the longer segment on Tom Cruise, which looked more like a fan club spot for the first half. Then finally Scn was brought into it and the word "zealot" mentioned. Andrew Morton was superb as usual, and I would say his comments maybe edited as it was mostly about what a good guy Tom Cruise was at first until until it got into his Scientology connections. Good overall, if soft.
Their final comment was that the CofS had contacted them before the program to say that Morton did not ever ask for interviews etc. Morton said he did request interviews and they were refused. (See http://www6.lexisnexis.com/publisher/EndUser?Action=UserDisplayFullDocument&orgId=574&topicId=100007221&docId=l:728907520&start=1)
CofS are obviously taking that line at the moment. ACA want emails on what people think.
-----------------------
The rival show Today Tonight (http://au.todaytonight.yahoo.com/article/129542/consumer/book-battle-scientology-tom-cruise) was a massive attack against James Packer for basically being a Scientologist and gambling. They quoted LRH words about gamblers being psychotic and showed a few clips of Packer in the front row at an event along with Tom Cruise. As James Packer and Lachlan Murdock are linked at the moment (http://www.news.com.au/business/money/story/0,25479,23083846-462,00.html?from=mostpop) and it involves billions of dollars, this is interesting as the ABC News reported that this deal involves "private funding".

ACA was lame, wasn't it? I guess I'm just used to Today/Tonight which seemed to me to be more like an accurate picture of the truth, rather than an out and out attack. (Yup, I'm partial! :p )
So. We can't get the book here (well, officially we can't) but we get the best TV coverage of it?
Just sayin'. You want to ban something, folks are going to complain. It's ridiculous how much radio airtime this enormous banning footbullet has got over Morton's book. Oh Scientology, VVWD.

I saw that earlier today and posted it to tchq. I think it's the most devastating print media I've seen so far in the latest round of media attention, the round that doesn't look like it's going to go away in a hurry. I sent a THANK YOU! email. Er, the media's keeping us kinda busy these days eh?

:hysterical: Thanks! We are upside down after all.
It appeals to my sense of humour. Like Alanzo's naughty puppy...

I absolutely refuse to say anything about Alanzo's naughty puppy because I don't know him well enough. :runaway:
