What's that clanking sound?
That's just Jason Beghe walking around.. :D
Oh.. What he says.. It hit's the nail throughout... So many similarities with my own experience. I'd guess that Jason does it to any scientologist.. In or out!
Ultimatly.. Those in the cult know! - Jason's take on 'the thetan always knows!'... They know that there are no Clears, that there are no OT's! - That the cult is 'hoping' to find out how to make the 'tech' work. They're not even experimenting in any useful way. Just the way Hubbard did... Miscavige now doing the flailings in the wind.
Jeeezuz!! - When Jason has his 'moment of loss'... He sure did call up mine! - Regretting having believed in utter nonsense like that.. Realizing that false 'hope' was indeed false..
This has been 2 hours with Jason.. Wonderful! - Thank's!!

I don't know how to say this without offending some people here but I'll try my best.
If you still believe in Santa Claus, don't ask your parents why you didn't get a skateboard for Christmas.
If you still believe in the Easter Bunny, don't visit the supermarkets before easter.
If you still believe in the Toothfairy, don't open your eyes if you feel a hand sliding under your pillow in the middle of the night.
If you still believe in Scientology, don't watch this video.

I've only seen the first one so far. If the CofS was clever they would take a snippet of it--fair use, you know--and put it in their own YouTube video. The bit where he talks about this huge, huge major fucking stable win he got on OT TR-0 and he hadn't even started in on the proper auditing shit yet. :)

Part 5 kicks ass
Part 8 - DM is 1.1 (he is being polite). He talks about "the higher you get in the SO the more PTS you become". Heh. That's one way of indicating an item.
Jason was like so many ex-scios I know.
Welcome.

OK, I've now watched all eight parts. My comments:
1. Right at the end of video #8 he mentions his "english" he's been talking. He's using this definition: "(sports) the spin given to a ball by striking it on one side or releasing it with a sharp twist", in other words the "spin" he was putting (or trying not to put) on what he was saying. I just mention this as a word-clearing kind of thing, as it is not a common usage. :)
2. As as guy, I would have much preferred this as a transcript, so I could have got through it three or four times as fast. For a girl, at least you get to look at a good-looking guy (I assume). Maybe have a male audio version with some interesting graphics, as the current video is simply a talking head. Videographer technical comment: next time, please, please, don't shoot a backlit scene without lights on the main subject!!! The background was perfectly exposed and the main subject was dark throughout. You must know this kind of stuff, it is Lighting 100 1/2.
3. He said that the six-month sec checks have been cancelled as "an arbitrary". Omitting the whole heap of possible commentary on *that*, I've got a question: Is that right? Are the 6-month checks on Solo NOTs now history? I hadn't heard that before.
4. Personally, I didn't really learn anything new, or get a different viewpoint on anything, but I'm not exactly new to the ex-Scientology thing. For someone else, it could be very valuable hearing about the real scene from a celebrity who's been there and done it.
5. He mentioned he could say a whole lot about L-10, not a good action for him. I would be interested in reading those comments if he ever gets around to making them.
6. Oh, another technical point. It is weird having 95% of the sound (Jason) in the right channel only, with the interviewer's 5% coming out of the left channel. It would be better mixed in mono. It's not like the separation is needed to help the viewer determine who is speaking.
So overall, if I had the chance of doing the whole two hours of my life over again that I spent on that interview, I would spend the time reading the (non-existent) transcript--which may never exist as it is a lot of work to transcribe two hours of continual speech--but not watching the video. Unless I was gay, maybe. Or a chick. :)

Jason, You are real, my man. Thanks for the honesty. Thanks for going through it for us so we can understand it better ourselves. I went through it for 34 years, two brief trips into and out of the Sea Org, and left for good in 2005. Made it to OT 8, did all 3 L's, and I have taken close to 3 years to decompress and wake up. I too am telling what I can to warn others. The Sea Org is really a cult. No doubt in my mind. The claims of Scientology for gains are unprovable, and unstable at best. I second the question: where are the Clears? Where are the OT abilities? Why are OT 9 and 10 not released despite 20 years elapsing after OT 8? Where is Super Power, researched in 1978 and not released 30 years later? No delivery. Only endless rehash of books, congresses, retraining on Golden Age. Wake UP! The great and powerful Wizard of Oz is a little humbug behind a curtain.
Jason, I'd like to meet you someday and shake your hand. Well Done, and I would sign your formula and attest you made up any damage, in my book. You are not alone, and in my experience it takes a couple of years to figure what is really real to you about the whole experience. If anyone knows Jason, please forward this to him. Thanks, Mike Henderson

Totally and completely awesome. I got thru most of it in one shot - playing computer games helped.
Jason Beghe says so many of the exact same things I've said. And the Congresses got him out - didn't exactly get me out, but got me looking, especially with the promo reading "Everyones listening, are you?" "F NO, not if everyone is doing it." And I never did listen to them. I started to wonder if they had been altered from the original lectures.
I'm glad he is speaking up.
So, Jason, if you read hear, thanks for telling your story. And thank you to the people that took the time to create the video.:cheerleader: :wow:

What a breath of fresh air. As many have stated here already, Jason has seen and felt (and now openly acted on) things I have seen and felt (but only voiced under cover of this and other message boards).
He is an amazing individual and I'm exhilarated he chose to do and post the video interview - a grand slam and more for our side!
And well done to Mark Bunker and xenu.tv for setting up, recording and posting the interview, at the end overcoming large obstacles to get it done.

I got through most of the videos. I had some technical problems, like some videos not playing all the way through. but I'll work it out.
Obviously the video is for current Scientologist and new ex Scientologist trying to make sense of their experience. I'm behind the message and agree with it although his message is deep. It's going to take some time to think it over and digest it. Like me, I think Beghe has a passion for the experience of waking up. He feels passionate about it and he wants others to experience it too.
Hopefully, this will be the recruitment video for the EX Sea Org!

Dulloldfart! Don't be such a Dulloldfart! :)
Sure! - The interview is a talking head for 2 hours.. And it's ripe with scientologeeze and arcane cult concepts.. Not 'communicating' particularly well to someone uninitiated. They'll get the drift however...
So, maybe something could be made that would communicate very well.. I'm sure Mark Bunker can do that! That would take Mark interrupting Jason when he says something too cultish. Then talking over what to say and retake the shot. Could get rid of the 'talking head' too.. Make some of the takes on a city bus and walking in front of the SP building. Plunk in some footage of Hubbard talking shit.. To explain things. Pictures of overboarding and canned laughter.. And music.. A polished and entertaining production.
No way to avoid a certain degree of 'falsity' with it though. Any kind of 'directing' introduces some unbelievability.
This interview as it stands is just Jason Beghe 'uninterrupted'. No falsity there at all.. Just what he said!

Vinaire, what I got him saying is that the Church is designed as a "theta trap", where the people in it are happy to be in it, not realizing it is a Klein Bottle, or Mobius Strip, continually thinking that they will get out by continuing to follow instructions, when those instructions simply keep directing them around the strip, with a toll, the same toll, every time you pass a registrar: money. That while you are in it, what you are aware of is the reality of the Klein Bottle. And when you aren't in it, you aren't confined. The experience is liberating, if painful and difficult and full of losses... and if you are one who gets out, you have a different perspective from someone who has not gotten out. It's similar to the idea of Flatland. People who are in flatland cannot conceive of three dimension land. They see everything in terms of the dimensions they are trained to see. A globe becomes an arc in front of them, because they cannot see the whole thing. A dyed-in-the-wool scientologist is in Flatland! Of course, people who haven't been scientologists (or some other kind of "ist") are also in flatland. It is only by realizing that there is another world, and then seeing both of them, that we have the new perspective (closest thing to exteriorizing, IMO) that incorporates them both.
I wouldn't trade my scientology experience for anything, just as I wouldn't trade my military experience for anything. On exiting each experience, I can then look back at them, compare and contrast them, and see from a new perspective.
It's called wisdom, and it becomes progressively more difficult and pointless to try to communicate as one becomes wiser. Of course, I can communicate mundane topics, but the more rarified my perspective (due to my having had different experiences to others), them more impossible it becomes to communicate that perspective: you have to have been there. Which is why we go there. To mine meaning out of experience, and find a community of people who have been there.
To sum up, we are the sum of the derivatives of our experiences that we have taken.

Scientology is simply an invitation for you to create yourself anew as a Scientologist.
It's very hard to change yourself. The greatest sorrows in life can stem from being unable to change things about yourself that you really really do not like.
For people who need a way out of their present lives, the wins at the initial stages of Scientology serve as a powerful invitation to begin building a new self, a new way to be, and a route out of your present circumstances.
That's why you buy all the books and tapes. You get busy learning this new "you" so you can change, really change, and become someone new and more improved.
Scientology certainly worked for me in the beginning to help me change myself. It probably saved my life in that respect. I felt huge relief from clinging to the simplicity (over-simplicity) that auditing would handle everything if I just stayed ethical enough. It kept me going for years.
I think that's why the biggest wins are at the beginning. You give them to yourself to provide the impetus and the courage you need to make the changes in your life necessary to create a new self.
And then we wake up to discover that the new self we created was just a controlled unit on a cult hamster wheel.
Well, at least now you know you can change yourself!
Congratulations!
You changed yourself!!

I've been reading in the FoxNews article about how Jason went back to his old high school friend, David Duchovny, and started telling him, for the first time with no PR or sales pitch, about Scientology.
And they both died laughing about it.
I did that, too.
Repairing all the old friendships I had ruined because of Scientology was an important step for me. It started giving me my old self back.
I hope Jason gets everything back that he lost from Scientology.
And then some.

If I am not mistaken, on part three of this video where he makes an effort to descibe the transformation from self to something else, I think he means, and what I have mentioned myelf, when a person is transformed from a who to a what.
When that individuality is hidden under labels like "Scientologist, class V, auditor, Sea Org member, PC, etc etc.
These terms used that turn people into whats instead of whos.
In my opinion this is a huge why for degradation while at the same time working to bring the person up as a being they get torn down by assigning they what labels.
I've asked many people in Orgs "Who are you?" to have them asnswer "A reg, Dir Pers, DofP, etc etc." They answered what they were not who they were.
From my understanding this guy just simply put his foot down on being transformed into a what.
Remarkable integrity.
Just remarkable.
Looking at the history of tech and what solo nots address' with just these issues, it was not even Hubbard who came to understand this kind of magic where people drift from whats to whos, and whos to whats. Hubbard never saw this. It was David Mayo who pointed this out.
Hubbards attempts at packaging people actually degraded them from whos to whats.
It was David Mayo who wrote about this "who? what?' assumption of beingness as an observation if one connects the dots from the solo auditing materials.
He is saying in the video if I understand this correctly, he did not care to be pushed from Jason, a who into a "Scientologist" what.
And he is right. Uniforms are not native to a thetan. Either is being any kind of what. In fact, it is a degrade to become a what.
Thanks for posting the videos.
He is absolutley charming!

Perhaps I may be of service in translation. I lived in LA for quite a while, and all the emphasis words Jason uses are just normal emphasis words for that region. Motherfuckin' is just emphasis. Fuckin' is just emphasis, but fucked up means bad. I'll be right fuckin' over means speed is a priority. You're fucking A right, means just, you are right to an infinate degree. Most Scientologists in LA swear like truck drivers.

I thought the fk fk fk thing was a New Yorker thing.
Anyway, if anyone here has a comm line with Jason pleae forward this:
Regarding the last tape in the interview.
A. It was very generous to say David M. Is a 1.1..
His tone level is actually fluctuating between and around punishing bodies, owning bodies, controlling bodies and approval from bodies. That should shed some light on why he does what he does.
B. That tree just beyond your deck to the left of your head needs water.

Sure that's O.K..
The tree thing may seem trivial I think it has been imported, you can see it is not native to the desert terrain. I suspect as he mentioned he is building and it looks like he is out on the west coast by the landscape , and frequents Home Depot, that it is a young Maple he picked up at Home Depot and he put it there thinking it would grow large and provide shade for the deck.
Anyway, otherwise it wouldn't have been such a big deal.
But it does need more water. Also they do much better when they have a partner around. If he gets another one and plants it close by the first one they will both be happier and grow faster.

Finally got the chance to see the whole video. Jason, you are my hero!!!:cheerleader: :cheerleader:
We are NOT celebs. but let me tell ya, we've been down many of the same mine filled "bridges" as yourself!!!
Ridiculous amounts of $$$ to "repair" the actions already paid for with ridiculous amounts of $$$$.
Telling my hubby one nite-I REALLY think I'm going nutty-all the second guessing and trying to "excuse" all the really sick SH** I saw going on around me!
Feeling like I've been totally fooled!!!
Still can't wrap my mind around it but after reading here it's getting better!
Anyways Jason-to put it your way- Scio F****D up royally when they lost you!!! THEY ARE RETARDED!!!!! :screwy:

Great stuff. Very eloquent. I hope miscavige blows a blood vessel on it.
I love that he says he fucked around with the reges - that is just outstanding. Not to mention paying $3000.00 for something that looks like a "transistor radio". That's just the first part and a bit.

Jason:
Hubby and I and even his dad and my daughter all sat and watched your Full interview last night!
We all laughed with you, cried with you, and were nodding our heads in vigorous agreement with you about all the Reg experiences, the 'lies' and 'updates' and 'BIG WINS' you were fed, etc! We sighed with a feeling of.....relief. It was a VERY well-done and thorough interview!
And at the end, when you stated you hope to 'help' people by telling your story, get them to 'WAKE UP'....
You will probably have NO idea how many people (including ex's) that you've helped and will continue to help!
THANK YOU for being so brave and making a TRUE IMPACT! :bighug:
GET MORE CELEBS to tell their stories, too!
Btw: You have a wonderful voice!
Why don't you make a new 'anti-Scn' and even an 'anti-Sea Org' Recruitment film....just use your siky voice to continue telling the TRUTH about Scamology, Twin A could help ya make it, I'm sure!
I can hear the new film now:...'By joining the Sea Org, your world will be filled with slow, insidious mental and spiritual abuse, no pay, long hours.....you'll be fed lies and flattered..... ' LOL!

We were told that the 6 monthly sec checks on the OT levels were one of the "arbitraries" cancelled with the whole release of the GAT in the early 2000s.
Interesting that people were still getting them in 2007. Noone mentioned that to us little staffers sending people uplines, after reassuring them that things had changed.....

I wonder if they really did cancel those 6 month-sec checks, too...and I also wonder if Jason's ever gonna make more vids...or better...write a book or make a movie!
