I listened to the doctors words and felt like time stood still. It became irrelevant. The world came crashing in to the small amount of space I was able to hold. You can't really prepare for the experience of having your world turn upside down. The more one wants for it to be another way, then the more upside down it will probably turn out when such destabilising news arrives. I know I didn't want, or expect this.

"Your x-ray results are in. The specialist has made a preliminary analysis and given me his initial results. The x-rays themselves aren't available just yet."

I was in my doctors room, seated in the middle. I listened as he explained the results of my x-ray from the previous day. It was less than 24 hours since the test. I had been called at work several hours earlier and told I needed to come and see the doctor as soon as possible. I had had a double appointment put aside for me. I had spent those few hours dwelling on what possible bad news may await me. Mine was the mind of an active worrier.

"I'm afraid I have some bad news for you."

Late in 1982 I was declared by the Finance Police. One minute, in the Sea Org in Copenhagen, the next out on the street. No money and in a country where I do not speak the language at all well and where the only people I knew were Scientologists and SO members.......

This story is not for the faint hearted. Read on, if you wish. I will have to do in segments, as it covers thirty years.

When I was born, my mother was already on staff in a Cl V org. She really wanted to join the Sea Org, but, per her, my father would not have it. He was also in staff in the same org. (My mother told me stories about him which I don't know if they are true as I did not hear his side). I also have an older brother. Both of us used to hang out at the org with her.

I remember one time my brother got bored and disappeared. The police brought him back in to the org. He had gone outside onto a four lane street and was walking on the yellow line. He was four or five at that time. Another time he was found walking down the street by a friend about 1/2 mile from the org. The friend asked him where he was going, and he said he was walking to his grandparents house (500 miles away). He brought him back to the org.

We all have dreams. I think that everyone with a good heart dreams of a better place for mankind, whether that be a freedom from disease, a more prosperous society with freedom from hunger and want, or a personal freedom without the worries, travails, and constraints of ordinary life. Just imagine if someone you trusted came to you and told you it was possible to live in a much better world. Imagine if all your worries about what you were going to do with your life were suddenly wiped away and you were going to help the world achieve that great society. Just for a second, really believe that.

HOW THOUSANDS OF MY FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES AND I WERE
DUPED BY A NARCISSIST

In the intense pursuit of my Dreams, Goals and Aspirations I needed desperately to develop a way to role play my actions. Just as I had learned how to be a professional football player – I needed life skills to successfully inter-relate with others in business and personal relationships.

It was in this intense search for these skills that I came across Scientology.

L Ron Hubbard in his early book Dianetics wrote:

“Acknowledgment is made to fifty thousand years of thinking men without whose speculations and observations the creation and construction of Dianetics would not have been possible. Credit in particular is due to:

“Anaxagoras, Thomas Paine, Aristotle, Thomas Jefferson, Socrates, René Descartes, Plato, James Clerk Maxwell, Euclid, Charcot, Lucretius, Herbert Spencer, Roger Bacon, William James, Francis Bacon, Sigmund Freud, Isaac Newton, van Leeuwenhoek, Cmdr. Joseph Thompson (MC) USN, William A. White, Voltaire, Will Durant, Count Alfred Korzybski, and my instructors in atomic and molecular phenomena, mathematics and the humanities at George Washington University and at Princeton.”

With this acknowledgement I believed I was joining a group dedicated to evolving mankind’s knowledge and skills.

I studied for a few months in Melbourne, Australia 1961 -1962, and went in August, 1962 to Saint Hill, England to study with L. Ron Hubbard.

It was at Saint Hill that I met 100’s of students that had helped over the preceding 12 years develop the exercises, drills and procedures of Hubbard’s work.

I quickly rose in the ranks to become one of the leading researchers and deliverers of the Technology under development.

It was an exciting time sharing the research with these dedicated people as well as learning how the different parts of the Technology had come into being, who had originated it, where they had got their ideas from originally.

There I was at the tender age of 25, in 1962 it was my privilege and honor to meet, work with and share with masterful top processors, trainers and coaches in the world.

There were 85 of these masters attending Saint Hill at that time, they came from many fields.
