Re: Why do auditors stop auditing

I've known several Scn'ists who were interested in astrology-one of whom had done a lot of the "bridge". I guess it's a point in their favor that they weren't too hung up about "other practices"....

Re: Was Ron a true believer?

Like I've said many times- it's not always that clear cut or either/or. Humans are a strange bunch. Hubbard seems to have genuinely cared about his body of work, such as it is. But at the same time...

Re: Why do auditors stop auditing

My dad had quickie grades. Later, of course, the tech degrades PL was written- henceforth to be merrily disregarded by DM & crew.

Horrible. But I do appreciate the explanation.

Seems like these types of people and scandals keep occurring.

I mainly agree with you but I have seen quite a few posts saying that they shouldn't be there.

    Re: On Ron

Well the FAQ says in it's who can post here section that this is open to all. Now, it is quite true that this board's management's stance on and patience with pro Scn ppl has changed but I don't...

  9. Re: Scientology: What broke the spell for you?

I'll tell you what didn't break any spells for me...being chided, scolded and publicly psychoanalyzed. To elucidate:
My route out started with a forum that was, at the time, the main critical Scn...

Re: Why do auditors stop auditing

When I was on ARS in the late 90s, it got a lot of traffic. Ralph Hilton, Safe, the Pilot, Basicbasic, a few people from alt.clearing.technology all openly identified as FZ or Independents. Pilot...

    Re: On Ron

Well, you may know I am considered too soft/reasonable on Scn. I tend to make more allowances than some might. But even so, I can't really give this op a 100% free pass. Hubbard created stuff like...
  12. Re: Can someone explain the value of "Not Thinking"

Not necessarily. See my other post. An example would be when I exteriorized with full perceptics. I knew who I was, where I was, but it wasn't through use of eyes, ears and brain. It was the way...
  13. Re: Can someone explain the value of "Not Thinking"

I didn't say the idea is to refrain from thinking; I believe that the theory is that knowing is superior, that it's like a grokking type thing.

There have been times in my life when I just knew...
  14. Re: Can someone explain the value of "Not Thinking"

Ideologically speaking, the idea is to know instead of think. I think there's something to that.

    Re: Why you should post.

When they confront my ideas, they are confronting my ideas. When they are teasing, they are teasing. I generally don't mistake teasing or confronting ideas for anything else.

    But sometimes we...

Re: Why do auditors stop auditing

Yes, lots of paranoia in Scn. Hubbard hreally inculcated Scn with his problems and hangups and that definitely included a very very deeply rooted paranoia. The psychs, the 12 bankers, the media,...

Re: Why do auditors stop auditing

My reason for no longer wishing to audit may be atypical. I was told it was what I should do. I was told it was what I wanted to do. And that everyone needed to.

    So I got trained.

    It never...

Re: Why do auditors stop auditing

There were people on ARS who were quite dismissive of auditing, etc, just as there are here. However, on ARS, up til about the time it (like all of usenet) started waning, FZers were pretty much...

  24. Re: Scientology: What broke the spell for you?

Well, contrary to a couple ill informed opinions, I'm no fence sitter re Scn, nor am I a Scientologist-who-isn't-a-Scientologist or here to promote whatnot... I, too, am an ex Scientologist. And what...

    Re: INSIDIOUS ENSLAVEMENT:STUDY TECHNOLOGY

As I mentioned a minute ago, there are many different types of auditing that vary so much that they aren't even the same thing.

I've been an auditor, and a pc. I know what I've seen. The piece is...
