  1. Re: I can see why people get hooked on Scientology

When I work out, I only sweat a little. When I do Bikram yoga, it's way more.

I just wish the classes were shorter and silent. General, while you're struggling in the heat the instructor keeps up...
  2. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

Didn't see the post that had 'em.

And I rarely attend FZ conventions. (I'm not a Freezoner or Indie, by the way)

Why don't you go to his site or phone him there if you've got some communication...
  3. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

One time when I went, CofS had Freezone Survivors there. It was just CofS operatives. Bunch of sad sacks carrying placards in that same hotel/casino.
  4. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

He's a Freezoner. Has a Freezone Scientology center on Reno. He has been doing the work and arranging and organizing of the Freezone Conventions for years. He's a gentleman.
  5. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

    All standard is, is

"a definite degree of quality that is proper and adequate for a specific purpose."

However, Scn'ists have changed that to flawless. Kinda wiggy as it's not even like that in...
  6. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

Oh, they do that as well.

My point was that it's not 100% RonFest.
  7. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

"Disconnection" (unless one is talking about unplugging a toaster) is a Scn phrase. So it means to cut off a relationship at CofS' behest. (or if it happened in a Scn offshoot, then, at their behest,...
  8. Adventures with Bikram Yoga and its cultic aspects

BTW, though I'm not currently doing it, I've done Bikram Yoga for years. The 26 asanas are basic hatha yoga ones and woe betide anyone who deviates. That's why the "hot yoga" studios that don't use...
  9. Re: I can see why people get hooked on Scientology

I do think the sweating out should be done on a regular and not sporadic basis. I think that's one thing Hubbard was aiming for. Although I believe there's too much time spent in the sauna in the...

Re: Does anyone else have eye problems?

Doubt it, unless you were doing lots of blink less TRs back when they had them. Probably bad.
  11. Re: I can see why people get hooked on Scientology

I personally think it's good to sweat stuff out. This is NOT an endorsement of the Purif. I think the levels of niacin and the length of time in the sauna are too too much.

    I think that if one...

Excellent points and helps me understand.

    Thanks, Arnie!

    Re: Leland's Rantings & Spewings

    Hippo birdies 2 ewe.
  14. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

Except that quite a few of those people will, during those posted exchanges, also say that there shouldn't be any FZ stuff posted here where ppl who've been hurt by CofS can see such posts. So I find...
  15. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

Been to a few. They often include topics unrelated to Scn.
  16. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

If you gave John or any of my FZer friends a tinfoil hat, they'd probably take it apart and use it to wrap leftovers in.
  17. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

Well, my hubby's an FZer and a more skeptical down to earth guy wd be hard to find. Truly. You'd like him.
  18. Re: What would your ideal Freezone Convention include?

    Jorma Kaukonen.
  19. Re: Rinder argues "It Sucks to be Miscavige." Do you agree?

Your levity aside-but appreciated- interesting question. Brad Warner, punk Buddhist and author, addressed this a bit in his most recent book: There is no god, and he is always with you.

    Seems to...
  20. Re: Rinder argues "It Sucks to be Miscavige." Do you agree?

DM has a lovely life- at the expense of others.

He may also have a lot of paranoia and rage-not so fun.

And he has a huge karmic debt. It truly matters what a person does.
  21. Re: A Q I can't Answer - If $cientology is so bad why is it still around???

    Ideas are sometimes like viruses.

    Re: Taj's anti-anti-anti-terrorist thread.

A person or organization that isn't actually terrorist, per se, may still do some terrorist stuff.

Finding a label for CofS' traits could be tricky. Abusive works well for me.
  23. Re: A Q I can't Answer - If $cientology is so bad why is it still around???

It's still around because DM refuses to let go. For my money, the guy's a psychopath, but he seems rather good at keeping things going in a way.

Would be interested in knowing people's thoughts on...

Re: Why settle for and Unideal Org?

Perhaps similar to their claim that Flag was the Mecca of Technical Perfection. Begs the question, oh so other orgs and missions aren't any good then? Hmmm...I see!
  25. Re: Was Travolta weird at Oscars last night?

Looks a bit thinner, though, maybe.
