Glad that you stopped in. Are you in Brussels? My son went there on a school trip this year -- has a bunch of photos. It's beautiful there.

Is that the same Waterloo that Napoleon was defeated in 1815? That is priceless; Napoleon was another runt with a big ego.

    @ Tiger Lily:

Thanks for the welcome! I study in Brussels, and I live there for the moment. It's quite an interesting city, but I'm too much of a nature person to enjoy it too much, lol.

    @ Zinjifar:

All I know is that the charges are extortion, fraud, unlawful trading pratices, invasion of privacy, and unlawful use of medicine. I have also heard it said that authorities are extremely careful about giving out too much information on the case because they fear that Scientology will try take every chance they can of finding some kind of court error.

    @ skydog:

It's not the same place, Waterloo is a town somewhere else in Belgium. The street in Brussels seems to be named after it though.

I might go and check the place out one of these days. I asked a friend who's more familiar with that area about it yesterday, and according to him it's quite a large and beautiful building in a rather fancy neighbourhood. I wonder if they will be able to find enough staff for it. Up until one or two months ago there was a Dianetics centre in the centre of Brussels which was barely ever open. The only period I can remember when it was open a lot was when authorities sealed their church building in Uccle (another part of Brussels).

Well they must be a legit organisation if they are opening such a large premise in Brussels. These legal cases against them have obviously got no foundation otherwise they wouldn't be opening such a large new building.

Good one Roland (I'm assuming that was a tongue-in-cheek comment)

I think that's the idea of buying "upstat" buildings and opening beautiful "temples' everywhere. That's the mindset of the world now -- you are as good as your mest.

So people may indeed be attracted by the "poshness" of everything, assuming that's an indicator of success and wanting to be a part of something so grand.

I think it's a sign of desperation though; A smoke and mirrors attmept to impress, a poor substitute for actual effectiveness.
