If I may offer some advice - it is important to take all information with a tad of scepticism when it comes to Scientology. Ex members do not automatically become "good" merely because we are now not members of Scientology. Just as someone was never as bad as the CofS would have people believe nor is the CofS as bad as some of us would love to portray it.
I don't know why I thought of Dennis Erlich here.

Stats are definitely an important consideration.

That was probably how he got his seniors to back off on the Apollo, too, Bea.

    Watch him!

    He's a tricky one.

I would have rather been in prison. At least people understand it. And I know some people from a minimum sec place, it was waay better than my life in the so.

I guess it depends upon whether you're in San Quintin or "Club Fed"

Odds are a guy who whacked his wife wasn't going to be spending his days at an honor ranch.

Even the idea of what he did makes me angry. The idea of hurting my wife in any way is unthinkable to me. Given the choice between her dying or me I'd gladly take the bullet.

    Interesting!
Back in the 80's when I was on staff at NY org, the HAS, Mark Harrison, strangled his fiancee to death. She had been one of my PC's.

Oh come on Dex! You can't just say that and nothing else! Too bizzare!

Who was this guy? Was he the same one mentioned in the op? Was he a psycho? What made him flip? His fiancee? Did he escape authorities?

From a post I made on another thread:

Here are some of my favorite stories, I think they're entertaining:

The Dir I&R was a black woman in her 30's, Alma Jamieson. She was having a relationship with a young white kid in his early 20's who happened to mention to me one day that the night before he'd enjoyed taking in a rock concert-after "taking some acid" (big "you know what I mean" smile on his face). I told Alma about this, who casually replied that "Its under control" !?!

The ED, Jerry Indursky, hired someone new to Scientology to be the HAS. I asked Jerry why he would do such a thing. Jerry told me "He'll be great, he's got a military background". This new HAS, Mark Harrison, would later strangle his fiancee to death, and be convicted. The victim was one of my PC's.

One day, when I was walking down the stairwell, Nobue Bauer, the Academy word clearer, was complaining to Bonnie Blake, intern sup, that one student was giving her a hard time. Bonnie said,"slap him in the face". Nobue said,"I can't do that, it will throw his ruds out". Bonnie had an answer for that. "Slap him in the face, I'll fly his ruds"

    Hi Dex

I remember the incident with Mark Harrison. There was a CMO mission into the GO at the time. We were actually no longer the GO, but became DSA/OSA, which was the purpose of the mission. I remember Paul, one of the missionaires telling us about the HAS having blown and that the girl he had moved in with had been found dead. I remember that she was a public person on lines at the Org and he was suspected of the crime.

The whole thing was a disaster, because he (Harrison) had just come out of nowhere and became her girlfriend almost over night and then got hired as the HAS.

I seem to recall that he was not caught by the police immediately.

I know that the CMO mission initially thought he was a plant and the mission I/C got involved with the cops immediately to handle anything that needed handling with regard to the Church. It had the potential to be a huge PR flap.

In your post you say that he was convicted. Do you have more details on that? When was he arrested?
