What if years ago, A currently still active member in the Church of Scientology of more than 30 years revealed to you as an individual, not their auditor, that they were involved in the sale of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of pounds of Marijuana in Florida in the 1960's up to 1971, when the criminal penalty would have been life in jail had she got caught, AND she still actively, yesterday in fact, espouses the standard line from "What is Scientology ?" on another message board ?

It appears she has two children in the sea org as they only respond to the message board on Sunday evening.

Should I just let it go or reveal everything to "knock her out"?

My opinion FWIW is that you should "let sleeping dogs lie."

It's been years since she did this and that she's now deludedly supporting DM's cult isn't a crime in itself.

Most of us on this board were also "guilty" of that too.

I agree with Dart, and having worked in Narconons I could (but won't ) tell you some stories from O/W write-ups done there that would make your girl look like an angel by comparison.

I too sold drugs in me pre-Scientology days, as did most of my mates at the time.

So what?

I've also exceeded the speed limit, jay-walked, ridden a train without paying the fare, stolen from supermarkets, etc etc..

We all do stupid shit and luckily most of us wake up and stop doing it before we get caught.

I think that whoever does damage, ought to repair the damage done, if possible. If someone dealt harmful drugs, I think damage was done. I'm not sure how much damage and I'm not sure the best way to make up for it. Jail time or any legal action probably won't help now.

If it was your child that started taking harmful drugs, you might feel differently about "letting sleeping dogs lie", if you knew for certain who provided those drugs.

Pot might not be that bad, but I don't think it's very good, either. I don't want it being sold to the kids on my street.

Keep in mind that the 60's and 70's were the hippie days, flower children, communes, free love -- Scientology would have gone nowhere if they banned druggies - including those who sold drugs. Many dealers were the kid next door, and not part of some cartel or gang back then. I've never heard of any Scientology ban on having done drugs in the past - pot or otherwise, except that you were denied the privilege of joining the SO if you had done LSD.

Seriously. I almost drowned in a swimming pool in 1976 after a few hits of LSD. I was upside down trying to scrape the bottom out to climb out of the pool.

Of course, I was out-qual joining the Sea Org. But, the 70's were some happy years I'll never forget.

If my kids wanted to do drugs, I certainly wouldn't blame the person selling them. Frankly, I don't think it's heinous to do drugs. If the child doesn't have something better to do, that would not be the dealer's fault.
