I take my hat off to Aaron and agree with what Mick said.

Some of us have taken many years to be able to speak at all about our experiences, and Aaron has gone that step further and described the inner workings that few know the real truth of. The hidden stuff, the nitty gritty, the inside workings of a sinister cult disguised as a church, the blackness behind the facade that most only see as they are supposed to.

To me that is heroic, it is only by luck I didn't end up in the same place, and I resonate with the truth he speaks and want to jump up and down and say "Listen to him!" Yes it can be hard to face and of course he is being heavily attacked, that is par for the course and he knew it would happen and spoke anyway. That is courage.

Past the babies bit, but geez if we ever meet he is going to get a hell of a hug from me!

We sure did need his input - Testimony from a perpetrator has much more weight than a number of testimonies from "victims".

Aaron was willing to give this input, long before he had the opportunity to do so. In doing so now, he is working through stuff personally (it's a hard ride), and at the same time he is working so hard to expose Scn and the CofS for what it is, despite personal consequences for doing so.

Yep, sometimes things just do come together when the time is right. The time was right this time, and in seeing that, Aaron jumped at the chance to start setting things straight - Good on him!

Aaron has really rattled a few cages, and ambushed OSA both in real life and on the broader stage.
As far as I can see its his choice, as it was to speak out.
He knows the price for speaking out as do we all, but he payed it and for that Kudos to him.
Anyone who has the Brass ones to go toe to toe with OSA in the public arena, kudos to them.

Aaron keeps his own counsel as should we all.

I, for one. find it pretty funny that anyone would think, after watching his videos, that Aaron could be pressured into doing something he didn't want to do.

He wrote a couple of chapters of the book on pressuring people to do things. I think he would know immediatly if someone was pulling this on him.

From what I saw he wanted to get his story out there, and wanted it badly. I'm pretty sure he felt relief that people were actually getting what he had to say. I don't think he's been taken advantage of by anyone and I find it pretty smarmy to suggest that he has.

He's a grown man and will do what he wants. I'm sure he can recognize good advice vs. bullshit better then a lot of people.

I know what it is like to get angry that this cult continues to get away with hurting people every day while other people and even the government agencies seem to be turning a blind eye and not believing the truth about how horrible this cult really is.

Thats good enough reason to be a little serious about it.

I understand now. I am sorry if I upset Aaron. At the time I was pretty shook and upset by the things he had done and it was very late at night. I didn't know he'd been out so long, I didn't know all the work you'd done with him and I posted my doubts publicly when I shouldn't have.

It wasn't on the Board long, I took it down as soon as someone else asked me to. And I tried to sort out this misunderstanding with you by PM but you kept wanting to put it on the Boards and chat with everyone EXCEPT me about it and wouldn't sort it out with me by PM. So you didn't exactly handle it well yourself, either.

So that is why I am writing you on the Boards now and I think that's weird that I have to do that, but if that's what you insist on, okay.

I think the work you did with Aaron is great and I am genuinely sorry I spoke too quickly and put my foot in my mouth. His testimony gives a very different impression of him than than what you and others have said right here. He is obviously not the same person he was at that time at all.

Maybe it would be a good idea if he wrote something more recent about just normal things so we all could get to know the new Aaron better. I'd like to know how his life is going now . I'd like to know everything about his new life. I just want to hear that he's okay. Call it a personal thing, but it does my heart good to hear that someone who was in is doing well when they come out. I know others that feel that way, too.

Like I said, the time frame really changes everything, but even so, I am sorry for what I wrote late last night.

Oh, and a note to the person who wrote the Elronism that 2-1/2% are SPs and 20% are PTS and anyone who criticizes has similar overts - sorry, mate, none of that is true and I'm sorry you still believe it. Everyone has ups and downs in life, sometimes there are misunderstandings and very few people are truly evil. Also, I never hurt a single staff member in my entire time in the SO (beyond putting my foot in my mouth on occasion) I got sent to the decks or put in conditions many times for standing up for others and there were times I didn't write things down in session or in sec checks that people told me to keep them out of trouble. So I CAN be really good at keeping my mouth shut when it is important. Clean slate in that regard (but not in other areas!! LOL!!). Dir I&R AOLA 3 years and never RPFed anyone, even under pressure from missions. Never punched or hit anyone, took care of staff under me and my son very well, thank you. And anyone who knew me then who is on here now can attest to that and I know several people on here already who knew me then. I'm a softie if ever there was one, but I stand up for what I believe is right.

And Carmel, I think it's awesome that you stand up for what you believe, too.
