BAKERSFIELD, CA (Catholic Online) - Among the many former adherents of Scientology is convicted mass slayer Charles Manson. Found guilty in leading the murders against nine individuals, later called the Tate-La Bianca massacre, Manson once proudly proclaimed Scientology as his religion of choice

Manson was introduced to the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard by his cell mate Lanier Rayner while he was incarcerated United States Penitentiary of McNeil Island, Washington in 1961. Manson was dabbling in many religions and philosophies during this period, and was said to have been attracted to Scientology for its many mind control tactics.

Claiming that he had been interested in "understanding his own mind," Manson is said to have spoken of little else and would reply "Scientology" if asked for his religion during this period. After about 150 hours of "auditing," however, he was screaming to get away from his "auditor," the person administrating Scientology processes and even managed to be put in solitary confinement.

This episode, according to one Scientology web site, "was probably due to the fact that Scientology brings one to confront and take responsibility for (their own) unethical behavior, something that, obviously, Manson never could do."

Manson, along with his followers were found guilty on several counts of murder and sentenced to life sentences without parole in 1971. One of his followers, Susan Atkins, found guilty in the murder of actress Sharon Tate, died from cancer while incarcerated last year.

I wonder how many Catholic lunatic murderers there have been over the years. Must be in the millions. It was even "standard tech" among the Dominicans to burn squirrels and deviates on pyres.
Standard tech is a subset of LRH tech. LRH tech is a subset of freezone tech. Freezone tech is a subset of all possible tech. - Pilot

I think that the future lies in understanding and developing the capabilities of the mind and spirit. I might sometimes loosely call this Scientology, but I don't mean the CofS. I mean anything which works in this direction, which would even include you if you ever achieve real wisdom. - Pilot

Jeez Leon, guess you're feeling the impingement. It may not really be your fault, I think you are one of the well meaning, but like it or not you are a practitioner of a philosophy that is under the spotlight... for the most part because the agency that the late dear Lcon left behind; one that has stooped to the lowest filth imaginable as regards the welfare of dissidents.

It might behoove you to take up a sign and attend the protests rather than attempt to find fault in those that duly respond when Lcon's Filth Agency aims it's ridiculous rhetoric at them...

Thank You Catholic Online for caring about us, the multitude of Ex-Scns, that have weathered alone, for far too long, the storm of attack from the Co$ at our every attempt to shine light and universal conciousness upon the evil harm that the 'Crutch of Scientology' has administered upon numerous deluded members as well as 'the woken' dissidents.

Your care and responsible act of disclosing the harmful nature of the Co$ has arrived when far too many, politicians and governments, have turned a blind eye.

It is greatly appreciated and shall not be forgotten.

note - this particular article isnt written by Randy Sly, and since the writer's byline is missing at the bottom & the locale is BAKERSFIELD instead of DC - i suspect Greg Goodsell is an independent/adjunct writer and not a staff writer.

Plus googlefu on his name and location shows him being published on a couple of minor media sites on a range of puff piece topics.

When I first got in someone mentioned Manson. It was poo pooed as a bunch of BS. I was told he'd only read DMSMH. But he claimed he was clear from what I've read.

Anyway I was told that if anyone brought Manson and Scientology up just to laugh it off and act like it was a big joke.

The CofS does not need the Charles Manson thing to do themselves in. They have MANY other resources...(this is possibly an understatement)
