Thursday is actually a very bad day because the special ed people are demonstrating outside Parliament House. I will be supporting their demonstration, although I could possibly flit from one to the other.

On the whole I am available whenever needed though, pretty much. What time? Would we be meeting on the lawns?

Having the special ed people there would work imo. The senators could be educated on how the CoS views "special ed" people.

"They are db's and pulled that body in because of past lifetime overts. We don't have time to deal with them now so we'll handle them next lifetime. I am sure Nick Xenophon would have some great input into what such a cult education would involve. When I was at school, we were briefly taught about cults in one or two Scripture lessons. Scientology was one of the few cults mentioned, and it was coveyed as quite sinister. Too little time was spent discussing it though to leave an effective impression on me when I was routed in off the street and love-bombed some years later. It would be great if many ex-cult members (I'd do it if asked) were scheduled to visit schools, and also if lots of audio-visual material was utilised over several lessons to really get the message across.

Yes, I think kids need to hear the story of another person who got in young, and be given a few key warning signs, such as:

Beware of any group that:

• tells you they have all the answers
• discourages you from listening to people outside the group
• tries to occupy all of your time
• tries to get you not to trust your family and friends

Age-appropriate materials could be developed, of course, with the older kids being shown programs such as the Four Corners one or "How to Spot a Cult" (what a great title).

Right On Cherished! I am in Australia and I have been working with CIFS and contacted Sen X regarding development of just such an education program. We have a teen targeted video that has been produced by another Ex Cult member, and I am now applying for grants to push the program forward.

I have been keeping it pretty quite up till now, but since I will be speaking to a public audience about it this month I decided to reach out on ESMB too.

Minnie, I don't know where you are but I would like to take you up on your offer to speak out. Cherished, please PM me too if you can, it seems like you have specific ideas that are right along the lines of the program we are putting together and I could use some input. Anyone else welcome as well!
