I found this board when I was considering the sea org
Jumped into the freezone...that was a lot less tense and I got some nice wins...I also got to choose what I wanted to do there!!!
Now I look at all the other "isms" and decide for myself what will work. The best part is, in the wog world I don't get any crap for doing it!!

Um...if the church is the only solution for mental health...why do they call ex psyc patients "illegal PCs"? Why do we still have mental illness??? Think about it.
Good for you 2Wolves that you didn't join the Sea Org!!

Interesting: I was just thinking about certain "isms": my country's history did have some not nice -isms...

Is it only me, or it is indeed so that the the Church of Scientology is looking at/for enemies at most of the places, something like "you're either with us, or against us"? (see more about this concept in history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You%27r..._or_against_us )

And indeed, a good question about illegal PCs...

Yes, that's exactly why I am looking at the whole thing. A few days ago a friend and colleague warned me that I should just sneak out quietly, and that I already had a bad reputation amongst our colleagues, because the word has got around about me being a Scientologist. NONE of my colleagues are Scientologists. And another one was SOOO happy when I told him that I was getting out.

I don't think I can have more to lose than what I have already lost: just to mention one thing, I am on a public blacklist in my country, for being a Scientologist, which definitely doesn't do any good to my career...

But I hope they will not have time or the resources to Fair Game me, for they have some really heavy stuff to deal with these months.

Okay, I should shut up now and rather work on my very nice write-up ;-)

Many years in silence about the true nature of things, as I experienced them in the Church of Scientology, were enough.

Thank you all for the comments! It was indeed a great help.

    Hi Toady
Love your avatar:D (pirate Toad! avast ye frogs!!!!)

That sig line was one of the thoughts I had running through my head for a while.....nothing like a little cognitive dissonance to get the brain in gear!
I hope your friend stays out and enjoys the sunshine:D

    Hi Sig!
We have some nasty isms in my country too....seems to go with religion in general........"We are good, THEY are BAD, you join us and we'll protect you AND give you freedom, everlasting life, an afterlife in heaven....blah blah blah"
    Gets old

Have you ever noticed how "religion" has to SAVE you from something?? Is this planet REALLY all that bad???

Sounds like you have everything to gain from coming out loudly and exposing the crimes of the cult. I find that people are curious about my past in Scn. I answer their questions. I do not get any backlash from it at all.

I left quietly because I didn't want to be an "Ex-Scientologist" or an "Anti-Scientologist" or any other kind of label with "Scientology" in the name. Just wanted to be myself and start a new life. It's worked fantastically overall. Never had any hard time from the org other than the phone calls in the beginning, inviting me to events and so forth. The eventually stopped, and most of the mail has.

I always felt I had a card to play that way too. I don't mess with them, they don't mess with me. They give me shit, I become an anti-scientologist. I know many here may say that's irresponsible - that I need to warn others against the cult, etc. etc. Thank you very much, I had enough years of people telling me what my responsibility to mankind was. I was dumb enough to get too involved and smart enough to find my way out. Others will have to do the same for themselves.

The bolded part is straight out of Scientology Tech. Straight from Ron. 'Don't fuck with us or else.' Which is fine, as long as they're not 'impinging' on you and you can ignore whom *else* they're 'impinging' on

Not to say that there's a duty to go 'active' against the Cult. It's always a personal decision and I'd be the last person to insist that someone 'join the opposition'. People choose their own causes and, as causes go, stopping the horrors of Scientology is one of the less pressing global necessities. But, once chosen it's a perfectly valid and socially responsible cause, and, because it's so small, dark and obscure, it's one that allows a level of *personal* reward that fighting cancer doesn't.

Especially considering how vicious and personal the retaliation can be.

But, you're right. Scientology isn't the *worst* thing in the world, but, it's bad enough to oppose if you feel like it.

Thanks for educating me on what is scientology tech, though I imagine I starrated those relevant policies before you ever got on the bandwagon.

Anyway, yeah, I'm not condemning anyone who chooses to be anti-scio. It just doesn't seem like a very fulfilling or even a very interesting game to me personally. For those that it is, power to you.

I imagine either way can be good - whichever fits the individual. That's why I wanted to know the pros and cons.

Indeed the "let's leave each other in piece" can be a good option for many people who can just simply end cycle, for example there is no request for refund/repayment, etc. Simply withdrawing your support, that is cool, too, if you really don't get shit for it. Great, Operating Wog, if that worked out for you well!

But probably when one has LOTS of connections inside and outside Scientology, who would wonder what's the score with you, it's better to make it clear for both sides, directly by you. That's how I would think.

There's nothing wrong with Scientology that couldn't be cured with a nice R.I.C.O. prosecution.

Naturally the 'Church' and some others disagree.

Ah, I look so forward to that day! When the news finally hits TVs and computer screens all around the world, with the top twenty or so senior Scientology executives all being herded away, cuffed behind their backs, to jail.

    Mega party!

    Miscavige after R.I.C.O
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." - Bertrand Russell

"They must know how to kindle and fan an extravagent hope". - Eric Hoffer about the "true believer". "Total Freedom", "your eternity", and "OT" involve a few of the extravagant hopes in Scientology.
