Thread: What would you tell a "wog" who asked you about Scientology?

Default What would you tell a "wog" who asked you about Scientology?

    ...

    THE SHORT ANSWER: Nothing good.

I don't tell my children about the fun times I had doing drugs either.

Because I would not want them to either:

    A) Look for "wins" in that direction.

    B) Connect to "source" (the unscrupulous pushers I bought from).

SUMMARY: I would not want "others to have the same gains" I had. I respect and love my fellow human beings too much for that.

    Scientology in one word? HelluvaHoax!

I never felt as free as when I freed myself from "Total Freedom".

For offended Scientologists reading this blasphemy about L. Ron Hubbard---my apologies for talking about real life without lying to you, like Scientology, with goo-goo theta-talk. I know you don't have a floating needle right now. You're not supposed to.

I have little reason to discuss Scientology with anyone in "real life" (outside of this discussion area).

If someone asked me about Scn I would find out exactly what and why they were asking. I would probably NOT get into a conversation, simply because I find that most people have so LITTLE familiarity with it, unless they were interested, in which case I would strongly warn them away.

If they persisted and demanded that they wanted to learn about Scn, I would then get into more details about how nasty, expensive and deceitful the Church of Scientology is, and get them looking into the MILDEST possible form of Scn in the FZ. I might suggest they google, "Paulette Cooper".

Other than that, I find little need to EVER talk about Scn in my life. I mean, do you really want to offer and originate to non-Scios that you know, "hey, I used to be involved with Scientology"!

There are so many more interesting things to talk about (with people who have no clue about Scn).
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." - Bertrand Russell

"They must know how to kindle and fan an extravagent hope". - Eric Hoffer about the "true believer". "Total Freedom", "your eternity", and "OT" involve a few of the extravagant hopes in Scientology.

"They are nothing but a %100 criminal origination and poisonous in all forms. If you or anyone you know has any problem with them and the police aren't helping....Call me"

That's what I tell them....just like most everyone I know.
Why do the ex scientologists post their accomplishments in the cult in this space ? Scientology sucks and if you don't think so you do too.

I would tell them (and have told them):
    • It's a con.
    • It's a scam.
    • It's all about money-money-money.
    • You have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to find out that it doesn't work at all.
    • It's a cult.
    • It's a fraud.

It they say, "My wife's brother-in-law is in Scientology and he says great things about it."

I respond, "They are programmed to say that. A few people have found minor benefits from Scientology's lowest-level courses, but that's all the benefit there is. The rest of Scientology is a greedy, money-grubbing fraud and scam."

If they say, "I'd like to know more." I refer them to Wikipedia.

I warn them to never, ever, ever buy anything from the church or ever give them their name or any other personal information.

Other than that, I'm very positive about it.

I like to throw in a fun question (seriously!) to anyone ever talking about Scientology.

I say: "Hey! How much would you guess it costs to do Scientology from the bottom to the top level? Go ahead and make a guess."

They ALWAYS guess too low and I smilingly shake my head and give them the "thumb-up" (higher-higher-higher) signal. They keep guessing higher and higher until I just blurt out: "A half-a-million dollars! Five-Hundred Thousand Dollars!"

They are dumbfounded, utterly. It sounds insane to them (because it is insane). They hate and fear the idea.

    That alone is a one-shot-clear-of-the-bridge.

I'd tell them..."Once upon a time there was a psychologically disturbed kid, you know the kind that likes to pull out the wings of flies, and rule over ant hills. He brutalized his wives, cared nothing for his children, and then got into black magic under the aegis of Allister Crowley, the evil magician. Then he came out with a workable sounding but utterly unworkable theory called Dianetics. Then he founded a so-called 'church'. After a time his madness increased. He became secretive, abusive, and finally ended up hiding under the bed screaming 'don't let them get me'.

He founded a cult, which according to one judge (Breckenridge) was "sociopathic," paraphrasing, "reflective of its founder." He cheated everybody, attacked, destroyed families, and was utterly money motivated. His methodology can give cheap thrills, but never NEVER achieves lasting positive results. Scientology has been and continues to be the wickedest, whackiest, miasma of raving madness on the planet. It takes mostly normal people and turns them into psycho droids. Avoid it like the plague.

Until about 3 years ago I used to say, "Read a book."

Since 2008 I say, "Read ESMB!"

I saw a stress test guy try to sell dianetics to some guy on the sidewalk and I said "they only want your money". Seemed to work ok.

    THEORY

“The auditor should also know that the E-Meter action is NEVER in error.
He should have full confidence in what the instrument tells him.”

    — L. Ron Hubbard, Electropsychometric Auditing Operator's Manual

    PRACTICAL

    RON
We are going to check that on the meter.
Is your tech estimate under $500,000?
    Over $500,000? Is it $ 500,000?
    That reads on $ 500,000!

    PC
Jeez! That's just gotta be a false read!

    RON
No, the E-meter action is never in error.
Now if you are protesting and so forth
that could be a new higher tech estimate.
Do you want me to re-assess it?

    PC
No, no, no, I have full confidence in the meter!

    Note:
I just noticed that I mistakenly posted this here on the "What would you tell a WOG" thread.
OOPS! I thought I was posting in on the "Stupid" thread.
Oh well, I guess, what difference does it make, in Scientology it's all stupid.

For starters I would not refer to them as a "wog." Maybe I would say if you like Jim Jones' "Jonestown," you will love Scn. But I would probably have to explain all about cool-aid laced with arsenic and 700 rotting bodies puffing up in the central American heat. Then I would explain that scn is worse than death.
