I was wondering how many folks here believe in and/or have any "recall" of past lives, whether that be from Scn auditing (from when the person was in, or if they're FZ) or from some other practice or ology and what those might be, if you want to share.

I used to believe in past lives. The con game of Scientology cured me of that delusion, I guess that's one win I can chalk up to Hubbard's can game along with understanding that religion has absolutely nothing to do with spirituality. If past lives do exist nobody has yet found a way to access them, but I suppose the same can be said for Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.
Yes lurkers you are not alone, everyone thinks Scientology is creepy, it's not just you

I came to the conclusion that past lives may or not be true, but the only life we can live is the one we're living now, so it's not an important enough matter to spend time on. Too many other more important issues, like bringing up the kids well, being a good parent, lover, friend, etc.

Invoking past lives is not necessary to solve the problems we perceive here, now. That's why I find it unnecessary to get into them too much, except to speculate that they are fantasies, since I've never heard of any objective documentation of memories containing information that could be verified.

In other words, I believe that "past lives" is a misnomer.

I don't believe in past lives. I never went before this lifetime in auditing and even had the Past Lives R/D which never changed anything.

I heard others talking about their past lives. One person even told me that he remembered me being a lady called Rah Su in Egyptian times. I remembered thinking at the time whatever floats his boat.

I have always believed in past lives, even prior to my time in the cult. I have experienced memories of these both in and out of the cult and although I can't prove that I have actually lived before, my memories of these times are very real and feel right to me.

I remember going to an event, one time, and they had us get up and introduce ourselves and give a brief bio, of sorts. So I said who I was and that I was a second time around Scn'ist. Now, keep in mind that I was in the cult, among culties, at a cult event. John whispered urgently: "Don't say that to them!" and it was true, people looked puzzled.

Kinda made me wonder how many Scn'ists don't believe in or have any frame of reference for Scn concepts.

It's kind of like some Christians I've met who say they believe in all of it, but they act like they're pretty sure that all that'll happen after they die is to take an infinitely long dirt nap.

I wonder how many any sort of ists/ians don't believe in what they may say they believe in.

And, of course, when I created this thread, I was also thinking "how many of us have changed our minds on things we used to believe in or that we hoped might have been true?"

When I was an auditor it used to amaze me how many people were Cleopatra, Napoleon, Genghis Khan, FDR, Queen Liz the First, Helen of Troy, Rasputin, any famous Caesar but mainly Augustus or Julius, or innumerable people on spaceships zipping through space. Very few PCs seemed to have been nonentities in their past lives. I don't think I came across any serfs or labourers in PCs' past lives. No-one ever had a past life as a beetle or a dog either. It did make me wonder. Generally I agree with other posters, there is only this life. But then when I consider Buddhism and Hinduism (to name just two religions that have theories of reincarnation and/or karma) I wonder whether they know something I don't. Rationally, though, I believe this life is my only one and I'm glad I'm having a good time.

There was no option for, 'dunno'.

I was certain before the cult, during and now I don't know. It certainly is more possible than plucking harps on clouds. I'm certain that some of my 'incidents' were ripped out of books and films, but not sure if they all were.

There's hope in the idea that there's a next life time, I have a chance of doing all the things I have failed on in this life. But that doesn't make it true.

But as other people have said on this thread, it's this life that matters, not past lives or future ones. Though it's a good idea to leave the planet in good condition so your genes can live on even if we do just kick the bucket.
Everywhere in the modern world there is neglect, the need to be recognized, which is not satisfied. Art is a way of recognizing oneself, which is why it will always be modern. (Louise Bourgeois)
