I disagree strongly with one "result" attributed to the Stanford experiment which asserts that all humans can be made to waver and engage cruelty to others. I know of instances where some persons did not stoop to inhumane behaviour even when others around them did. And one guy who stood resolute when threatened with death. Some have performed acts of kindness, despite risk to themselves, during tortuous times --whom I shall forever admire and respect. You must see that there are courageous people even in the most pernicious of times. I have.
David,

It should be noted that the Stanford Prison Experiment findings are not Science: the researcher's paper failed to pass scientific peer review for various reasons. The most notable of these being that the experimenter chose to participate directly as a "guard" and biased the behavior of the "guards" due to their perception they would not be paid if they did not do as he expected them to do. Furthermore, this experiment has never been repeated and so those results were never confirmed.

No general statements made about human behavior based on the Stanford Prison Experiment are scientifically valid, no matter how many cult "experts" wave this around to support their claims.
