Thread: The Church of Reasonology

    Default The Church of Reasonology

Despite its absurd claims otherwise, Scientology is the most REASON-able organization on the face of the earth.

Everything has a reason. A why. An explanation. A justification. A who. A piece of tech that explains why the other piece of tech did not work.

Pardon this rather sobering example, but it just happened.

A friend of mine (a Scientologist) recently died quite suddenly and unexpectedly. Survived by their spouse, this couple were full-time, dedicated lifetime OTs. They were about as close to Ideal Parishioners as any church might hope for.

Around the time of the funeral, I spoke to another very close friend (also a KSW-Clearwater-Scientology OT) and asked about the deceased. The person I was speaking to knows that I am not a Scientologist and was rather frantically searching for answers to my probing questions. Searching for "correct" answers I should say.

I quite innocently asked things like: "So, was _____ auditing on VII?"

You could hear the wheels spinning as they hesitated and haltingly tried to re-spin this badly non-standard com cycle back onto a good public relations track.

The gears were grinding and smoking....and I can assure you that OT's do not like questions from non-Scientologist (former OT's) about suddenly-dead OTs. I will spare you the awful details of that conversation and just cut to the REASON.

The suddenly dead OT was on Solo NOTS for many, many years but for some reason (unknown to the person handling me) they were "off the level" for some length of time. "Oh! _____ was actually off OT VII? I didn't know that." (as if I cared or it made any difference)

I wanted to nudge my friend into a corner and see what REASON they would give me for the suddenly dead OT.

Thanks, dear reader, for your patience. Here it is, in all its REASON-able splendor:

"Well...they never did the Golden Age of Tech."

There you have it! The reason!

They were Clear and they still dropped dead.

They were OT III and they still dropped dead.

They were OT V and they still dropped dead.

They were on OT VII for a decade and they still dropped dead.

They dropped dead because they did not do the Golden Age of Technology.

And Scientology has a REASON for everything else that happens too.

They can explain absolutely anything to you.

THAT IS THE ACTUAL TECH OF SCIENTOLOGY. IT'S REASON-TECH. NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS THERE IS A TECHNICAL REASON FOR IT AND YOU JUST NEED TO PAY FOR THAT TECH AND IT'LL BE 100% FIXED.

Since 1950 and Book I (which itself gives the engram as the reason for all human suffering, mental illness and disease) the progression of Scientology is nothing more and nothing less than REASON-TECH.

    Each new process.

    Each new rundown.

    Each new OT Level.

The entire Grade Chart itself is an aggregation of REASONS.

Scientology is simply the Road To Total Reasonableness.

    It's a mindset.

It is what keeps people in Scientology after it doesn't work.

    Scientology in one word? HelluvaHoax!

I never felt as free as when I freed myself from "Total Freedom".

For offended Scientologists reading this blasphemy about L. Ron Hubbard---my apologies for talking about real life without lying to you, like Scientology, with goo-goo theta-talk. I know you don't have a floating needle right now. You're not supposed to.

SITUATION: An OT III who attested to "freedom from overwhelm" is completely overwhelmed with personal problems and debt and has to declare bankruptcy.

REASON: Oh! They went out ethics. The tech doesn't work if ethics is out.

SITUATION: A Dianetic Clear has migraines.

REASON: They don't have headaches on the first dynamic. Their head is part of their body which is a "living thing" and therefore on the 5th Dynamic.

I knew a really nice guy who went to Flag, his name was Andy Ladd. Andy was the epitome of what Scientology says it is but isn't.

This was about three years ago, he completed OT VI, went back to Vermont and promptly died of a heart attack. Guess he had a reason as well

Well...Yeah, if it was a mandatory barbecue--that would make total sense.

By the way, the first time someone told me that there was a "mandatory" event ordered by the "Captain" or some naval rank, I had one of those moments where time just stops. And I thought to myself.

    Is this stuff totally insane?
    Or am I an SP?
Why would I ever go to any "mandatory" anything?
Why is somebody ordering me to go?
So what happens if I don't go?

(by the way, the answer to that last question is: "Really good stuff, like talking to cool people like Smilla on ESMB")

You gotta admire the wonderful closed circuit that is scientology. (2) The tech always works. (2) Ethics works. (3) If the tech doesn't work, see (2). They've got you coming and going. My noodle is floating.

My first encounter with Sea Org Arrogance was when I realized I needed to be on my guard. Perhaps the whole group wasn't a cult, but within the group, there definitely was a cult. Later I found out that the whole group is a front for the cult, and is deliberately created by people who know it is a front. They know that their job is to get people "setup" to be delivered to "higher orgs", increasingly staffed by ever more fanatical and unreasonable cultists. Dupes in the front of the organization may not be aware of this (and may not be capable of understanding much), and give the impression, to the best of their ability, that everything is okay and safe.

When you get on their bad side for one reason or another, that's when you realize the pleasantness is a facade, and the cult comes out of whoever you're dealing with.
