    So far, I've made 80 jumps. No base jumps; all from airplanes with plenty of altitude for the reserve, if needed (never did).

    People die every month doing this. The incidents are investigated and reported in Parachutist magazine and here. Most are avoidable by being aware and following procedure. Base jumping -- you may need to rely on luck a little more.

    I don't regret any money I've spent on this. How many people died in car accidents that never got to live? Skydiving is one of the few things that is as fun as advertised.
