I wonder. They need about 200 crew just to keep the thing afloat, do the laundry, polish the brass, clean the bilges, wash the dishes, clean the bogs, How are they going to run the ship without their slaves?
I think this is something fundamental to Scn. Hubbard must have realised that people with a mission would work for nothing, and his whole empire is built on the premise that labour would be more or less free. Scn could not be sustained if it had to pay proper salaries. Thus IMO the fundamental premise of Scn is now economic.
