Isn't this delicious? Maybe Marty used the donations money to pay for the CofS attorneys to do what they are doing.

George Spencer giving his opening statement.

Scientology's attorney, Spencer, tried to get the judge to scuttle Jeffrey's opening statement because it would violate the agreements! She said no. Now Jeffrey is up.

Jeffrey: "Ms. Cook was beaten. She was tortured. She was degraded beyond belief. She was made to watch the torture and beatings and degradation of others. And not just one or two. She was confined in inhuman conditions...they signed this agreement just to get away."

11:00 am. Jeffrey wrapping up his lengthy, impassioned opening statement (he got emotional at one point when he described Wayne Baumgarten wanting to not rock the boat with the church so he could continue to talk to his sons and father, who are church members). Scientology had wanted Judge Tanner to keep Jeffrey under constraints, but she hasn't interrupted him once.

Jeffrey finishing up by raising the issue of the church doing the exact opposite in Florida, where they want a court to butt out when it comes to contracts with members. Apparently, Jeffrey did word clear "estoppel." Recess.

LOL! Karma is a bitch, isn't it?

Having watched Marty (and then Mike) since they went 'publicly out' I've been unable to dismiss them as 'still true believers'. Yes, they're 'true believers', but that doesn't explain their activities. Nor does it explain the frequent mismatches between their stated purposes (where any are stated) and other aspects of their activities and conflicting statements. To me at least, it's obvious that they're on a 'mission', but, equally obvious that that mission is not being disclosed. In fact, the most consistent element is the non-disclosure, allowing *others* to 'dub in' their own desires and wishful thinking. It's a consistent Scientology 'tech' and it's been one since Ron Himself. Also clear is that, while they reveal some 'truth' it's liberally mixed with deliberate misdirection and is never more 'truth' than they feel necessary to promote some *unstated* goal. But, Marty's promised great revelations leading up to Ron's 100th Anniversary.

    Marty's promises?

Here is a thread, sadly out of date, on which to keep track of the things he said he would so. Feel free to add one more item.
