    Emma,
You are from a different land, but maybe politics is the same there. Here in the US our leaders are accused of the vilest of acts and intentions. Our current president is accused of being a liar, a Muslim, ineligible to hold office, a Socialist, a hater of whites, a hater of America. But he is a good man, and the people making these claims are either whipped to a frenzy by crap from the Internet or have an agenda of his destruction. I admire how he keeps on. I couldn't do it.

As the old saying goes, you can tell the leaders, they're the ones with the arrows in their backs. That befits you. And as we say to returning war veterans over here, "Thank you for your service."

Wow. That's a shock. On one hand I wish I didn't have to read those words "I'm done" and on the other, I totally grok it. When I first started peeping over my wife's shoulder as she posted and as I eventually got up the gumption to post on my own, I always marveled the guts of who ever ran a board like this with the nasty reputation the church has with it's mad dog attacks on anyone it considers an enemy.

As I posted I even admired you more, especially when I went to other boards to post and suffered through their moderation, I realized this board is a priceless gem. I went from being a declared true believer to an understander (though I am just near the water line of a huge iceberg) of what Madness is masquerading as man's salvation. Your board IS at the top of my salvation. Truly - posting and arguing and, may God rest my soul, learning saved my sorry ass.

Of course you have enemies - personally, you should wear it as a badge of honor. You have enemies because you are making a difference. They can't stand the destruction of their cult that you have wrought by fighting them with the only truly effective weapon in your arsenal - the truth.

From the bottom of my heart: Thank you for saving my life.

    Mimsey

Thank You Emma, I don't know what else to say right now, still stunned, but I wanted to put something down before the thread was way too long.

This has been a great experience for me, I learned a lot, this board is very unique.

It's hard to understand why anyone would critcize you but it's clear that those who favor you are in the vast majority.

Sorry if I gave you any headaches, I hope not, and if I did it wasn't intended.

First of all not to take away any due credit in your post to Emma that is richly deserved I have a few points to make.

You speak of Obama as" But he is a good man, and the people making these claims are either whipped to a frenzy by crap from the Internet or have an agenda of his destruction. I admire how he keeps on. I couldn't do it. "
Have you not not looked closely at his policies and agenda?
He passes a Health Bill that basicaly enjoins all business including my small business to pay mandatory Health Care policies that would cost at least $12,O00 yearly per an individual when you cannot choose whether you want it or not but instead face a stiff fine if you don't pay up.
There is a lot more nastiness buried in that Bill that has yet to surface and I am glad of the numerous States have sued the Federal Government on basis that it is unconsitutional and illegal.
    This is called socialism period.
Obama has acquired close to 1 billion dollars in his election campaign yet he uses the pulpit of the presidency to do his campaigning at no cost .
There is a law that was passed over some 20 years ago here by Congress that at the end of the election whatever is left in your campaign fund contributions are yours to keep personaly after taxes of course.
Where did all those campaign donations come from to add up to close to a billion smackers that if he wins or loses he keeps what is left over.
He is a politician and another cult leader that is in it to line his pockets and be part of an elite.
He promised change and has only brought a lot of change to his own and his cronies' pockets.
Hey , I do expect some thieving from a politician as that is their game and lifestyle but when it is of this magnitude of a sellout with the Wall Street financial thugs being given a free tiket to ride by this same person you extoll I have serious problems along with many others on painting him as a "good leader " my friend.

ESMB has been and is so important to so many people (even the ones who don't know it yet), though, that it shouldn't disappear when you leave it. Would you consider making a temporary private section for the five of us (you, Mick, Paul, Ray, and I) to discuss possibly continuing ESMB as a living forum?

Anyone who would like to come on over to Tipping Point is absolutely welcome. Since our main focus is front groups, I know it could never take the place of ESMB for exes, but perhaps some concentrated effort on exposing the front groups could be a worthwhile step on the road to recovery from the cult experience.

Dear Emma - I can only add my kudos to the many here

What your creation has meant to me cannot be measured and is distinctly irreplaceable and invaluable.

The truth contained within your board has helped to fully free me from the blight which once held me captive.

Through it I chatted live with the man, Alan Walter, who actually wrote the Life Repair steps I did some 40 years ago and who had my auditor at the time on his BC at St. Hill.

I've been able to get the inside story of the Sea Org and a close-up view of Hubbard from Dart Smohen and others I'd have never seen without ESMB.

The thought of losing the comm lines and viewpoints I enjoy as a member of ESMB chokes me up - there are some great people here. Where else would I hear the singing of Paul? Or have the opportunity to learn from the experience of Veda? Interact with folks like jqpublic, lonestar, free to shine and a score of others? Worship at the feet of I mean enjoy the brilliant repartee of HH?

I get that you must go and are in fact gone, but the future needs ESMB and I beg that this will occur.

In any event, thank you so much for everything and please accept my warmest regards and may oodles of love gobsmack you in the future you make.

    God Bless You

    Emma,

This has been a great and very unique message board for ex-Scientologists.
I am sorry to see it go away.

I hope that there is someway that someone else would be willing to take-over and keep it going.
(I realize that most people don't have the time to do this.)

Kudos to you for what you have done in creating and maintaining this message board.

Thanks for everything, you're a class act a will be missed but I totally understand. You've done a lot of good despite the aggravations, never forget that.
All Scientologists are Ex-Scientologists. They just don't know it yet.

It appears to me that there are some people who truly felt misunderstood or not listened to and it seems a bit complex and I care not to get into the middle of it and have always said as much and I would not allow my affinity for you to be broken.

In truth, in spite of whatever bad things you saw said about you, there were lots, and lots of good things said about you even amongst those who have had personality conflicts.

Personally, I always just observed it as a whole lot of love gone south and I just listened.

I know you don't care, really, but no one is really your enemy.

I understand you not wanting to do this anymore. I feel the same. So, along with you, I am done.

    Love to you.

    Sindy

Sindy ... as often happens you have taken the words straight out of my mouth with this post (just took em, didn't even ask) ...

Michelle, I don't know how you've done it ... I really don't, I would have slung the towel in years ago.

To be able to join ESMB and just be myself (the good, the bad and the extremely ugly) after all the years of being 'someone else' in that cult has been well, awful in lots of ways (I always thought I was so much nicer!).

I expect I'll need a therapist now to recover from the shock of finding out who I really am.

You know I love you, and I always will.

    I'm done with ESMB

I'm done with having Scientology play any part in my life.

I'm done with everything to do with this game.

ESMB is paid for until October 2012 at which time it will cease to exist. If you are an historian please take what you want from the archives before October. I'm prepared to give a copy of the database to a handful of people who can do what they want with it. Those people are Mick Wenlock, Paul Adams, Ray Hill & Ethercat. Those people might be able to salvage something.

I suggest registering at "Reach for The Tipping Point" message board if you want a new board. It is very well run & I have the highest regards for Ethercat. Also I think OCMB is accepting new registrations currently. Glibby, Sponge & RIF do a great job over there and it deserves support too.

I'm sorry if this announcement upsets anyone, but I simply can't do this anymore. I started out trying to do something good and it's ended up that I have made enemies everywhere. I don't want to read anymore crap about how I'm a sellout, a liar, an OSA operative, a bitch etc. I'm over it. I need to live my own life now, free of Scientology & the effects it has on people while in and also after they leave.

I only have one piece of advice left for anyone considering leaving Scientology. Read about Hubbard & find out who he really was. Read stories from OT8s who made it to the top of the Bridge & found out there was nothing there. Educate yourself as much as you can and as quickly as you can and once you've come to an understanding of what happened to you - RUN LIKE FUCK. Get away from ANYTHING & EVERYTHING to do with Scientology including groups formed by exes.

Go back to school. Travel. Play soccer. Join Rotary. Meditate. Raise kids. Volunteer for the Red Cross. Do ANYTHING except hang around. Scientology took too much of your life already. Don't give it one more second than necessary to recover.

    Over & out.
Thanks, Emma, for all the trolling opportunities you gave me. As for the scientologists here, they will move onto Marty's blog and fight over each other to get their tongues in his asshole so life goes on.
