I thought I'd be sad about this but instead I find myself feeling glad for you.

Because of all that you've given us with the birth and continued existence of ESMB (through good times and bad) and because ESMB has helped so many of us shuck off the scientological conditioning, I find that your happiness is much more important to me than any sense of loss I might feel over the termination of ESMB.

I'll be eternally grateful to you for providing this particular Forum where I somehow managed to work my way through it all and sort out and find clarity in my own thoughts.

I owe you, feel free to call in the debt anytime.

In light of recent events I totally understand and respect your decision.
It is amazing how life throws a curve ball at you & suddenly all priorities change. What was once so terribly important is now no longer on the top of the list.

I wish you nothing less than a wonderful life shared with the ones you love.


It makes me to know that there are people out there who seem to take sheer delight in gossiping, criticising, denigrating and being plain nasty about you & other ESMBers.
Their baseless unsubstantiated theories are just their whacky opinions. That is all.
They will continue to behave in their mean way because that seems to be all they know how to do. What ever bulls###t (justified or just plain paranoia) that caused them to turn from being your friend to now actively being your enemy should be ignored and forgotten. I am astounded that grown adults choose to behave in this schoolyard bullying manner.

I am full of mixed emotions.

ESMB was VITAL for my journey out of the cult of scientology. The long nights were made shorter. The gnawing deep pain was eased. I found old friends. I made new friends. I found a place where I felt understood. ESMB means so many things to me. What a rich profound experience ESMB has been for so many.

I don’t know how to thank you – I honestly don’t know how.

Emma... Thank you for your kind words. I can certainly empathize with how you're feeling about scientology and wanting every trace of it gone from your life. You deserve the happiness without scientology that you're looking forward to.

ESMB has been and is so important to so many people (even the ones who don't know it yet), though, that it shouldn't disappear when you leave it. Would you consider making a temporary private section for the five of us (you, Mick, Paul, Ray, and I) to discuss possibly continuing ESMB as a living forum?

Actually, I think that ESMB is currently the best message board for exposing the church of Scientology today.

I come here often to read what you all have to say.

And to laugh at some of the jokes, and feel sympathy for some of the people going through ordeals with the church and after leaving.

Emma, when you first complained way back when that OCMB wasn't working for you because the posters didn't get it, I'll be honest...I didn't get it. Now I do. Exes need a place to talk to other exes, and this is it.

You have provided such a huge service. Well done.

As far as being attacked goes, I have had a taste of it and it really sucks. I got into this whole thing to try to stop injustices, and it's SO UNJUST being somehow the target of attacks. Yeesh. You DO just want to throw in the towel, I know.

I wrote to one person, trying to explain that we're all just humans trying to get through life, maybe helping people a bit, maybe making mistakes sometimes...and it basically fell on deaf ears. I don't know what you do with people like this. I was about ready to quit, then someone else sent a fantastic message to me and I went PHEW! Not everyone is weirdly heartless.

This is definitely a tough gig, and I don't know why you have to have skin like an alligator to do it. You're HELPING people for crying out loud. I guess it's how life works for some bizarre reason. I wish it wasn't.

I know I've said it before and I probably won't be taken seriously, but I'm done with this.

I'm done with ESMB

I'm done with having Scientology play any part in my life.

I'm done with everything to do with this game.

ESMB is paid for until October 2012 at which time it will cease to exist. If you are an historian please take what you want from the archives before October. I'm prepared to give a copy of the database to a handful of people who can do what they want with it. Those people are Mick Wenlock, Paul Adams, Ray Hill & Ethercat. Those people might be able to salvage something.

I suggest registering at "Reach for The Tipping Point" message board if you want a new board. It is very well run & I have the highest regards for Ethercat. Also I think OCMB is accepting new registrations currently. Glibby, Sponge & RIF do a great job over there and it deserves support too.

I'm sorry if this announcement upsets anyone, but I simply can't do this anymore. I started out trying to do something good and it's ended up that I have made enemies everywhere. I don't want to read anymore crap about how I'm a sellout, a liar, an OSA operative, a bitch etc. I'm over it. I need to live my own life now, free of Scientology & the effects it has on people while in and also after they leave.

I only have one piece of advice left for anyone considering leaving Scientology. Read about Hubbard & find out who he really was. Read stories from OT8s who made it to the top of the Bridge & found out there was nothing there. Educate yourself as much as you can and as quickly as you can and once you've come to an understanding of what happened to you - RUN LIKE FUCK. Get away from ANYTHING & EVERYTHING to do with Scientology including groups formed by exes.

Go back to school. Travel. Play soccer. Join Rotary. Meditate. Raise kids. Volunteer for the Red Cross. Do ANYTHING except hang around. Scientology took too much of your life already. Don't give it one more second than necessary to recover.

I thought I was devastated when Oprah announced she was quitting her show. Tears came as I realized how MANY lives she had changed, and I could only think she wasn't enough AWARE of the huge impact she continued to have every day still. Well, she gave us a second chance just like you did before....then did her thing. But today I feel much more of an extreme loss. This board has helped me to remain grounded. The links inside ESMB provided by so many knowledgeable posters have been invaluable to say the least and I bounce thru my favorites often. This board would be sorely missed by me if it vanished. I copy and paste so many things to my private drop.

I much admire the fortitude you have shown. You've gone above and beyond any call of duty. This message board has probably been a laborious task sometimes without much gratitude but you've made a BIG difference in my life. The connections I've made on ESMB have been enriching......and I'm still in denial about you or it ceasing to be here. I hope someone can arrange the archives in a library we can access easily.

I hurt for you just losing your mum and then having even more sadness and aggravation. I wish you great happiness Emma. I am filled with gratitude for what you have done here and I'm sure I can't imagine what its like to have to put my attention on an act of service to others 'constantly'.
