Among my favourites is the conflict between what L Ron Hubbard in his PTS/SP Course Pack defines as roboticism and what he defnes elsewhere as a valid path to spiritual freedom.

    Contrast and compare:

    . . . yep, robots = insane yet obedience = freedom!! Delish.
Ah, but the PTS or SP "robot", with overts and withholds is being robotic "as an effect". He is operating on "automatic", and dramatizing "circuits". His behavior is nothing but a large bundle of "automaticities".

The uptone and upstat fellow is knowingly and willingly, with full understanding and awareness, choosing to "follow the orders". This fellow is functioning in a sane way with a productive group of similarly-minded beings (shoulder-to-shoulder).

There is no contradiction at all!

"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." - Bertrand Russell

"They must know how to kindle and fan an extravagent hope". - Eric Hoffer about the "true believer". "Total Freedom", "your eternity", and "OT" involve a few of the extravagant hopes in Scientology.

I was reading an article by Anthony Burgess (he wrote A Clockwork Orange) in The New Yorker magazine and he was saying when he was in the army, at first he protested the regulation of every part of his life, such as going to the loo when the bugle sounded, rather than when the bowels made one aware of their presence. He said he grew to like it. - there was no thinking, no decisions etc. He was discussing his novel and 1984 as well as Brave New World and contrasting them.

    It is an interesting read.

He was a very interesting person, and his lengthy autobiographical writings are well worth reading.

How about when lrh says that the robotic person is SO PTS he needs the upper levels or OT 3 to be de-pts'd, yet states NO ONE is to get any auditing until all PTS conditions are handled first.

there's all sorts of dissonance regarding orders and free will. back in the eighties, one of my pals on the street was a spade longshoreman who had served in the korean war and had driven a tank. one day the track commander told him to drive over a hooch. franklin protested saying "there's people in that hooch sarge." the TC put the business end of his colt upside franklin's head and said "that's an order soldier". my most sincere apologies to those good women of this board who well detest war but i'm quite proud of both of those americans

I wasn't on the spot but I sure did walk the line
You know I saw her coming but I didn't hear her go
'Cuz she said goodbye to me years before she said hello
