When I think back to the days before I entered Scientology, I wonder how much I've changed while in scientology and whether the change was for the better.

I will say that Scientology certainly did change me.

It made me into the kind of person that I didn't like before I was a Scieintologist.

After I went through various stages of personality changes, and after I rediscovered my true self, I left Scientology.

For the life of me I can't understand while I stayed so knowingly blind for all those years.

Since Scientology I have become a stronger person; not because of Scientology, but in spite of Scientology.

There is, of course, no way I could ever know what would have happened had I not landed in Scientology.

But I can't say that Scientology itself, helped me.

It put demands on me and tested and tried me, and in the long run I came out of it, not fully in tact, but at least stronger.

The strengthening wasn't because of improvements the Tech did for my character.

Rather, I became stronger because Scientology tested me and fortunately I did not break.

There were times when I bent, but I never broke.

Now I have the same curiousity for life and learning that I had before I stumbled into the Church.

I'm like a disatisfied Socrates now, and that is better than the satisfied fool I was while in Scientology.

"But it's alright, now in fact it's a gas...

It was to me what I experienced. Not what you tell me to believe.

If I wanted someone to interpret my experiences for me and tell me what to believe I would have stayed in Scientology.

Unless, of course, you mean Succotash.

After I got out of Scientology (and thru the adjustment period) I gained traction in the real world and began to attain levels of financial success and personal freedom that i never had in Scientology. In truth the ascendency was (in Scn promo terms) a "rocket ride" up.

There was never any chance to really be free in Scientology because despite any "FNey" feeling, there was a military-industrial-complex running all Scientologists and whether they knew it or not, the cult members were just part of a vast army of worker ants, laboring endlessly to gather crumbs and relay them to an endless succession of other worker-ants.

The Command and Communication Channels of Scientology sent the well-programmed worker ants out to forage and bring back sustenance and valuable materiel to the colony where the Big (being) Ants resided.

GARGANTUAN ANT TRAIL

Scientologist communicate by a series of intricate signals, verbal, written and otherwise, much as ants do.

Did you know that ants, like Scientologists, even have propaganda tech?

Well, I have gone off my ant trail here on this post, talking about all kinds of unrelated matters to the thread.

But, then again, maybe getting off the Cult Ant Trail, is really what it is all about.

Once i got far enough away from the main ant "road" and lost sight of the colony and the 10 million other worker ants, I realized I was not an ant at all.

And the result? (see last line of following poem by Robert Frost)

Scientology ... it got me a smoking habit that I have broken and gone back to over 100 times since, at least I spend far more time as a non smoker than a smoker. It cost me a lot of money. It cost me time. It cost me friends. It cost lots of missed opportunities with chicks. It cost me, indirectly, the career I should have had. It cost me, eventually, winding up on the streets of downtown LA as broke as broke can be. That twist of fate, however, allowed me to see things differently than I would have had I stayed plugged into the system.

From all I have learned and experienced, I can tell people, with absolute certainty, that cold beer beats Scientology any day of the week.
