    Default Scientology's summer of hell

I just saw this article from The Independent:

    Scientology's summer of hell

With the Cruise marriage split, the 60th anniversary of L Ron Hubbard's cult movement is going from bad to worse

    Genevieve Roberts - Sunday 01 July 2012

Suddenly, being called a "cult" seems the least of Scientology's worries. The movement is already facing a summer of high-profile court cases, bitter defections, blockbuster exposés and members bringing the so-called religion into disrepute. Now...

    From the article:

"Scientology's reputation will take a further hit when the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Lawrence Wright's book on the faith is published. Titled The Heretic of Hollywood: Paul Haggis vs the Church of Scientology, it has been described as "the most profound reckoning to date". Haggis, Oscar-winning writer of Crash and Million Dollar Baby, left the organisation after three decades in 2009, in protest at its refusal to condone same-sex marriage.

The disastrous season for Scientology is set to continue into the autumn with the release of The Master, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman. It is a film that is likely to be seen as a scathing allegorical critique of Scientology."

But, as usual, the mindless Scientology drones will turn it all into a "win". How?

Miscavige, based on standard Hubbard PR-Spin Tech, will loudly proclaim, "we ARE making an impact, we are changing the planet Earth for good, the SPs can't stand that, and they are coming out of the woodwork and attacking Scientology". Continuing, "now is not the time to let up, and NOW, more than ever, we are at a key turning point in the history of Scientology and planet Earth!"

The logic is based on the nutty Scientology ideas that 1) "SPs hate betterment activities", and 2) Scientology is the ONLY "true" betterment activity. So, when the noise level is high and when the SPs are clamoring at the gates of Scientology, of course, Scientology is WINNING!!!!!

Stupid you say? Yep! But that IS Scientology.

And, naturally, they will use the "attacks" as an excuse to REG even MORE money to "protect our religion".
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." - Bertrand Russell

"They must know how to kindle and fan an extravagent hope". - Eric Hoffer about the "true believer". "Total Freedom", "your eternity", and "OT" involve a few of the extravagant hopes in Scientology.

In the words of it's founder:

    Scientology "...is not a religion."
-- L. Ron Hubbard, Creation of Human Ability, 1954.
