I love this ABC story and am so happy for the lovely wife and handsome husband and their new infant.

However, I'm very mad right now at whoever has been serving as legal counsel to ABC News.

ABC had this story in the can for a year! And they only NOW found the courage to air it?

NOTHING related to the facts of this young couple and their flight from the cult have changed in the last year. The only thing that has changed is that the Katie v. Tom media shitstorm created enough air cover for ABC's fucking lawyers finally to approve the airing of this completely legitimate story of abuse and human trafficking.

This young couple's story by itself reveals the criminal culpability of the Church of Scientology to be charged with RICO crimes. Beyond this couple, there are hundreds, if not thousands of similar stories already in the public record.

To all you lawyers who give legal advice to media outlets regarding Scientology stories: Consult with other media oulets' in-house and outside legal counsel and learn from each other. Scientology is now a cult your companies can investigate and publish stories about. Completely reconsider and rewrite the criteria you used to think must be met before approving similar stories.

But mostly, please stop being Scientology's bitch. Start acting like the Fifth Estate you used to pretend you were. Your mission, if you accept it, is to get this cult shut down and its leaders prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
