I'm not sure that any religious body is the best way give charity and carry out humanitarian actions. Our extended family all give a minimum of 10% of our income to very carefully selected charities, but none of them are religious. Once a year we all meet up to select the most urgent need, and we give to that cause via one or more charities.

We do this because we want to, not because we are religious.

That's excellent. I have rarely had much 4 to give to charity, but time, work/skills, and love...I've given in large measure.

Highly unlikely unless you do something like publish a book, give media interviews, or file a lawsuit.

If you have friends or family still in the cult, and your identity becomes known, they may get to hear about it and be told to disconnect, depending on what you post.

But if all you do is post, and don't do media/legal stuff, and have no connections in the cult, you're pretty safe. There are many people here who openly post under their own names, have done so for years, are easily findable, and haven't heard a peep out of the cult. Myself included.

Good for you - what you give has it's own value. Money is just one of many ways of giving.

Hi to whoever looks at this. I just read BFG. I got started in about 1992 or so, and ended off my staff contract standardly in 1995. Was involved with a Scn partner I met on some Scn dating service and formally got together in 1996, and split in 2001. I finally had enough as a public on the backside of my staff involvement in about 1998 - 1999.

So I've been a gone girl since about 1999, and just now really coming to terms with what is in my rear view mirror. I mean, it was weird to be a Scn at the time I was one. But even weirder to have now recently digested a couple of key ex-Sea-Org memoirs, and to see that I wasn't crazy after all. And dismayed to know that some names I revered as leaders (Lesevre, Starkey, Mithoff, and others) have been stripped of dignity (why they allowed it is their business) and been shoveling **** literally and dressing in tuxes like darling sock monkeys parrotting the party lines.

I am an evolved, middle aged adult - and opening up this particular Pandora's box of delights is not exactly something I saw myself doing. I'm not so jaded as to think I can't get a little discharge and healing here if there are not too many freaks. The freebridge environment kinda started freaking me out. All the jargon kinda raises my PTSD hackles.

Anyway, for as long as it is useful to me or others I'm here. We'll see.
