I really hope you speak out. The IAS extorted 50,000 dollars from — but not the money — the lasting emotional pain I still deal with from being so taken advantage of by someone I trusted. If you need first hand account I will gladly meet you face to face to explain in details the horror of my IAS experience. I am in LA at the moment.

I’m sure you have heard countless horror stories but if you would be willing to listen to mine maybe it would inspire you to speak.

Yes, when Marty posted his love letter to Brian, his story was posted and he detailed the insane regging at flag he dealt with. I think, in total, they got $300,000+ from him via various dunning. Really, like it started hardcore from the moment he got into the flag van at the airport.

The intro post should be easy to find, Brian culkin is a cloud tag on Martys blog and easily searchable.

PS - Marty <3 Brian cuz Brian is a white boy good at hoops. He played college ball, hes got money and he's into new age yoga Scio woo-woo BS. A true bromance for Marty.

I give Brian a lot of credit for speaking up and for not falling back into the Scn trap with Marty. I don't think Brian has had anything to do with Scientology practices since that Flag incident. Forgive me if I am wrong on thiss but that has been my take on following his posts and such since he was out in the St Petersburg Times Video. I mean, perhaps he got an ARC break session or something but frankly, I don't even think he allowed even that. The guy is onto other practices that have served him well and it seems that he has continued in that direction instead of going back to scientology. Here is his work bio http://www.jaiyogabraintree.com/aboutus.php

How AnonyMary describes Brian Culkin conforms with what I know about him as well.

Another reason not to accept the Rathbun PR blog as anything but the Rathbun PR blog. Wonder how many of his posts introducing Indies introduced people on their way out the door? My guess is quite a few.

That would be great if it is true. I know he's open to other practices but I've seen numerous posts by him quoting LRH or pointing to his wisdom on certain things when posting at Martys blog. Maybe it's just a way to communicate with the indies over there but I always got the impression he still was into the tech, or whatever, and was an indie. I'd love to be wrong!

As for his blog being devoid of any blatant Scio crap - well many true believers are embarrassed to admit they are Scientologists and hide the fact from most people (if possible) because they know the bottom of the barrel opinion most everyone has of it. The current thread on here is a good example of that phenomena.

The list of those who post at Marty's blog indicate that his blog and the term "Indies" describe a pretty big tent.

Numerous people who've left Scientology (both the church and its beliefs and practices) have attended annual Indie picnics.

Even non-Scientologists are among the Indie 500, which someone over at Marty's blog defined unfundamentalistically as open to anyone who is "... in opposition to the practice of disconnection, or just the belief in the right to your own integrity ...."). By that standard, everyone here would qualify as an Indie.

Sounds to me like everyone's peeling onions. Here, there, and on their own.

I don't know who said that on Marty's blog, and by what authority that person purportedly spoke on behalf of the Indie 500 List, but that is not how the List is defined on Scientology-Cult.com or on the Indie 500 List itself. Instead the Indie 500 List itself states:
ANYONE WHO USES ANY PART OF SCIENTOLOGY TECH, even if other parts are not true for you, is welcomed to be on this list. LRH said what's true for you is what's true for YOU. A person who blindly accepts everything is a robot not a Scientologist. Anyone who retains the right to their own integrity belongs on this list. Freezoners are naturally invited. Send your name to Thoughtful (Steve Hall) at indie500@nyms.net (copy and paste the address) and don't forget details such as years in Scientology, training and process level, or years on staff.
That is very inclusive, but it doesn't include everyone here, much less all OG and Anons. To be on the List, one must supposedly use some part of Scientology Tech.

So all I'd need to do is use a newspaper to clean my windows or use a feather duster to clean the interior of my Jaguar, and I'm on that list? Scary...
