Default Why is the bridge to freedom so expensive?

One reason why I stopped going up the bridge to total freedom was it was costing my total bank account.

I’ve always wondered if there was some plan in place by church management to drive up staff numbers by making the bridge too expensive for the average person to afford. The irony in this is that most people on staff really never get up the bridge. My guess is… that now with the basic books push, this is the most training that most staff have ever gotten or will get.

I decided that being declared and being denied the bridge was no different than not being able to afford it. Either case you ended up with no bridge.

For those of you who where in the high management positions, was this ever discussed?

Fear not you can do the bridge in the Freezone. I expect BB aka Terrel to show up here posting the freezone links.

He is the freezone div 6 by volunteer.

There are to main groups that are standard. ICause and IFA.

There is Ron's orgs which is mostly standard up to OT 3 then their own bridge.

I was once told "it's expensive because it's for the able". Therefore if you couldn't find the money, well too bad. You don't make the grade. So join staff!

I agree and it's not like they are using the money for staff pay, medical care or retirement accounts.

On MySpace I was confronted by two Scientologists, one a staff member and the other obviously am FSM. When I asked them (publicly) what they had spent on the Bridge and what they thought it ultimately would cost them to complete it, they feigned ignorance and refused to answer. The FSM mocked the idea of an FSM program where people get commissions on other people paying $$ to the org and pretended like that just didn't happen.

Anyway, I'm off to storm the castle.

Thanks for the info Barb. No Fear about getting the Bridge, I've seen the info for the Freezone. Very interesting place.

I'm just trying to understand how the management of the Church can't see this (high prices) as being a stop of people wanting the bridge. I remember when prices started to increase back in the 70's when I was on staff. We were all excited as staff because we started thinking we would finally be able to make some decent pay.

But, as the months went by, the price continued to increase (the program to buy your services before the next price increase sent stats soaring) and I started to think, “When will this stop”.

Now we have an emeter that went for $500 being sold for $3500 (or more). I’ve seen families where only one member in the family would be able to buy the bridge, and the other members were just left behind.

Is this subject ever discussed by upper management or is this just considered another enemy line?

The sad part of joining staff is that very few get anywhere on the bridge. Most training that staff get is on their post (job). But by the time they complete the training for one post they end up on another and have to train for the new one. The only staff that I ever saw get up the bridge where either in the TTC (technical training corp) or had already been trained and joined staff.

It was kind of funny (or sad) to hear some staff talking about things in Scientology when in reality most had never read the basic books. At least with the basic book push, staff will now know some of the basics.

That is an real SP product is a full stop and taking one for a ride while doing it.

I think a lot of the OT's in the Buffalo Org has died in one manner or another. They are PTS. From murder by one's own son to cancer and accidents.

I think the OT's are being taken out myself.

The excuse I kept getting and I never bought it was that it is priceless so they should have to pay anything for it. I kind of fell for the pay anything for it when I was loved bombed at ASHO.

I've seen you mention this before "loved bombed". Can you tell me what this is?

I know what you mean about the priceless line... I thought it was priceless but what good can it do if no one can afford it? I didn't expect them to really make the services priceless for real.
