It never came to my mind that some got physical in abusing their spouse and children.

I've seen some (mostly male) scientologists being emotionaly\psychologically abusive to their spouse in the name of ''putting ethics in'', not being reasonnable, handling counter-intention....

Those people were often regs, ethic officers, HCO, ED and a few C\Ses......and it was known, since the fuckers (ethical handlers) were abusing publics and staff too!

I seem to recall a reference where Hubbard introduced the term "solid comm line" meaning a punch. Anyone remember where this came from?

I thought a "solid comm line" just meant a physical connection, like touching the shoulder or something. Where from? Some CCHs reference maybe? With the punch mention simply being a joke in a lecture from the 50s when the usage of "solid comm line" was common.

I don't know where it's from. I just remember it in my org being used as a euphemism for hitting someone.

Threads like this make me so sad.

I am so grateful to have never grown up in scn, to have had the opportunity to leave, to have family that have never been in.

By some odd stroke of fate or grace, I made it out to have my own life. Not all the children did.

I think of the children who didn't.

Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
    And feather canyons everywhere
    I've looked at clouds
    Scientology that way
    But now they
    it only blocks the sun
    They
It rains and snows on everyone
So many things I would have done
    But clouds
    Scientology got in my way
    I've looked at clouds
the tek from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
    It's cloud
    the fake illusions I recall
    I really don't know clouds
    the afterlife at all
Moons and Junes and ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love Scientology that way

But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughing give them the finger when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
    Don't give yourself away

I've looked at love the tek from both sides now
From give and take and still somehow
    It's love's Scientology's scamming illusions I most recall
IIt taught me nothing at all about life,
    after all.

Joni Mitchell regrets giving up her daughter for adoption:

"Looking back on it I think I got these gains only because the processing made me self reflect and try to repair the damage done by it. So I made gains in spite of Scientology not because of it. It's better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you are not."
