Not as authentic as a telex, I think.

So, Terril, are you saying you prefer evil ?

    Yes, he did say that.

One of the most fascinating things I continue to find about those who are adherents of scientology is this : they don't even really understand what they profess is going to save them, mankind & the whole planet !

Not trying to be harsh, but, it does seems to be the common denominator among those people.

The common denominator among adherents of scientology teachings is they really do not even understand what it is they are claiming will save them, mankind & the planet !

And that is the saddest of it all.

PS: I no longer have " the books " & been over a quarter of a century since I even glanced at that gibberish, but, check the " Axioms " for what Doctor Hubbard Hisself has written 'randomity'.

Doctor Hubbard is the sauced source !

I couldn't quite recall Hubbard having used the word "evil" in relationship to randomnity. So, I had to look that one up. Your recollection is excellent!

It's from the AXIOMS OF DIANETICS:

AXIOM 189. THAT WHICH IS GOOD FOR AN ORGANISM MAY BE DEFINED AS THAT WHICH PROMOTES THE SURVIVAL OF THAT ORGANISM.

COROLLARY: EVIL MAY BE DEFINED AS THAT WHICH INHIBITS OR BRINGS PLUS OR MINUS RANDOMITY INTO THE ORGANISM, WHICH IS CONTRARY TO THE SURVIVAL MOTIVES OF THE ORGANISM.

ps: The specific wording you used (i.e. "alike") is probably "borrowed" from the Scientology Axioms--the one that says something like: "...goodness and badness are alike considerations and have no other basis than opinion."

    Scientology in one word? HelluvaHoax!

I never felt as free as when I freed myself from "Total Freedom".

For offended Scientologists reading this blasphemy about L. Ron Hubbard---my apologies for talking about real life without lying to you, like Scientology, with goo-goo theta-talk. I know you don't have a floating needle right now. You're not supposed to.

    Thank you !

It would have been, best guess, early-ish 70's when I read that.

Memory seems a strange thing as it's been a long time since I had or wanted a reference book of Doctor Hubbard.

These days, I put more stock in Bashar !
