Another thing...I think that using Scn lingo can really piss people off. I think it's different than just saying "Oh, hey, I left CofS but I still like Scn." or even " I'm still in CofS and just looove it."

I think if you're discussing Scn tech with others who like it, that using the lingo is ok if you are trying to discuss a specific procedure or concept. But if you're doing it on a public forum with a mix of people, it can sometimes really annoy others who don't like Scn stuffies. And I really get that.

That's why I liked Grundy's humorous thread about the lingo. On that one, we were just doin' a little fun J & Ding.

When I was a staff member, my Mom used to get annoyed with me when I'd use Scn lingo. She'd say "Oh for god's sake, speak English." Actually- she was right. If one is in a social or family or business setting with people who aren't Scientologists, one should speak plainly without the Scn-ese. There are ways, you know, to discuss Scn ideas - IF THAT'S THE TOPIC OF CONVERSATION- without using a lot of specific Scn lingo. ("nomenclature".)
I am truly into myself, yes. And I'm just as interested in other people. When I'm not thinking of one, I'm thinking of the other.

I get really tired of hearing about how the lower bridge has value. The lower bridge has the sole purpose of getting the PC to reach for more bridge. The fact that many people improved their circumstances as a result of a good intentioned auditor being interested and caring about his PC is not worth the long term and intended result of Scientology technology. Huh, Waa... What is this all about? Where is it needed? Who needs it, and for what purpose?

Why is it when I visit other spiritually orientated, religious, and independent websites, I find valuable nuggets of inspiration, wisdom, revelation and down to earth common sense!

But when I visit your site, I observe trinkets, bobbles, sparkly things, twaddle and something called artwork?

So my question is and I’d be interested to know if you two are self sufficient and prospering on the so called artwork? Otherwise I’d be very concerned about quitting your day job!

Not sure what the problem is here. Anyone who clicks on a URL with someone's name in it gets what they get.

Lots of people create JPGs about Scn. Some I like, some I don't. Some people like my husband's, some don't. And so it goes, as Kurt Vonnegut would say.

    Rare disagreement, Claire.

We are on a forum called the ex-scientologist message board. While others might come here to discuss whatever, it is quite clear (tm) by the name that it's meant for discussion between ex-scientologists. Use of scientologese in such a context shouldn't be unexpected, and if there are questions about the terms, one can always ask them. If you don't want to read the scientologese, why - ignore it, and move along. Seriously! Try going to the ex-train-engineers site: bet you they use trainyard lingo.
    going somewhere?

That said, me’s a happy camper that you’re a happy camper with your new found freedom to define and divide your scientologist world into 15 new kinds of Ex scientologists selves for your own personal enjoyment.

Exactly, Mr. Happy Camper. Placing people into categories such as "How much of an Ex or you?" seems very similar to that philosophy I left behind those many years ago.

Why don't we just invent a bridge to Total Ex-Scientologist? Then we can sit around and figure out where we are on it.

I totally agree! Please don't take my thread title the wrong way. I am totally not into categories, more an observation of some of the apparent stages we can go through at different times while unravelling the web. Some do, some don't.

You go ahead, I’m not particularly interested. Wouldn’t want to expend the time or energy doing that. Anyways didn't Arnie already do something like that?

My purpose was and still is to scan these kind of message boards from time to time for the most balanced and up to date information about activities going on with that group. Like an early warning radar system I’m more interested to know when the Third Reich intends to invade the neighborhood.

If I wanted to indulge in scino speak, I'd join a freezone group! But then there would be no up-to-date information of activities going on in Scientololala land.

And since these boards seem to get all muddied up with apologists from time , what the heck, life's too short!

    :D

OK. Sometimes things just strike me a certain way and I go off into my own reactions to what is occurring.

Thinking about this subject (the stages of EX as you put it), it occurs to me that to some degree as an EX detaches himself from the cult, he or she is still to some degree playing the game called Scientology - and has simply taken on a different role.

Is it possible to live one's life without any reference to things Scientological? Or, having once been involved, is that absolute freedom forever unobtainable?

I've managed to go several years without even thinking about my experiences there. But, here I am, all these years later, posting on the Ex-Scientologist Message Board.
