So, they are scouting around Birmingham for a location for their new ideal org and, "hey presto!", there's a big sign saying "ideal" at the front. No-brainer!

I'd like to see how that fits in with the campaign for religious recognition.
"Place of worship" - only if it's worshipping the mighty stat.
The "Church" of Scientology - miserably failing to save a world that doesn't need or want to be saved

"The statement, from public affairs director Graeme Wilson, said: "Parishioners of the Church have donated funds for the freehold of Pitmaston and they intend to make it into a new church."

Did the parishioners vote on that? Does that imply that staff pay will be raised, or will it be more work for less pay? Current CofS members are so desperate to just LOOK GOOD in a very conservative fashion, that they have forgotten about the prime purpose, auditing.

Okay, so DM thinks (so he says) that buying really cool buildings will increase the credibility and status of, and "institutionalize" the CofS so that it will never die, from the landscape at least. Will that bring in more public to be audited? Will that put the CofS in a Power condition? See, we have all these beautiful buildings, aren't we in Power now!

It's like banks building these temples to keep your money in. Would you give your money to a bank that operated out of a mobile trailer home? Or would you give your money to a bank that is located in a mausoleum on 5th Avenue? Come on, be honest.

CofS is going into "bank" agreement.

Graeme Wilson is a poor sap who could not walk and chew gum at the same time.

This whole thing is simply smoke & mirrors. Use their resources to buy big "White Elephants".??

    Who are they kidding?

Parishoners making donations. Yeah, Right !

Scientology auditing was supposed to help us break out of these mind traps, these ego-status-maintenance of control traps.

The $amount of real estate is in reverse proportion to the $amount of auditing, I'll betcha. I bet more $$ pour in from donations than from actual auditing starts on the lower levels (meaning new people in).

Every Org I have ever been in discouraged in practice Intro Book 1. Is that because it does not work?

No amount of auditing can launder ill-gotten gains, but, real estate works good.

Has the CofS gotten to the point where it can support itself off its investments?

DM owes a lot of people a lot. He is hugely in debt.

I think it's because it does work, but they can't charge you for it when you're co-auditing.

Absolutely agree, CKP - DM has taken it to a totally marcabian reality like the Catholic church for instance. Its infrastructure, not substance or message. CofS has gone Establishment.
