    Default Testimony Needed

    Hello,
I've only just signed up for this message board, so I apologise if I've put this topic in the wrong part of the forum, feel free to move it to the correct place.

Basically, my name is Stuart Buchanan, I'm 21 from Northamptonshire, UK. I'm in my final year of a Journalism degree at the University of Sunderland and as part of one of my final projects I'm completing a number of original articles, one of which concerns Scientology as a religion and one of which concerns Anonymous and other groups that are against Scientology.

The reason I am posting this message is because I really need some form of testimony from both members of Anonymous and ex-scientologists to provide a balanced article.

Well, I say balanced, the Church of Scientology has been anything but helpful to me.

If anyone is interested in helping me, primarily from the UK, but not exclusively, please reply to the thread and I'll get back to you.

Any help will literally be GREATLY recieved.

    Many thanks,
    Stuie

    Lurk Moar.

    Here and at Enturbulation.org

    There are plenty of testimonials.

But you may have to dig for them. I suggest you read Bea Kiddo's story, Alanzo's epic story, and anything from Alan and DartSmohen.

Let us know if you have any questions.

You'll learn that anon is not against Scientology per se, but rather working to bring about internal reform to eliminate abuses perpetuated by Scn management against its staff, and deceptive practices upon an unsuspecting public. You'll also find Scn does not deliver what it promises and is a "do what I say, not what I do" for profit business, certainly not a religion.

Yeah, sorry, I should have worded my original post better.
I understand there are testimonies here, however, under the guidelines of my project I have to source some myself.
I.e. Original messages recieved personally by myself.

Thanks for the help so far, I'll keep digging away, but if anyone would be interested in adding their story to my work, it would be excellent.

    Many thanks again,
    Stuie

Ok...I'm an ex-scientologist. What questions do you have?

    Thank you

Firstly, I would need to know where you're from, age and a name I can use for the articles, I understand some people like to keep their identities hidden, which is not an issue, I just ask that I can have some form of name to use, even if you want it to be your message board handle.

It's quite basic really, I'm looking for any anecdotes you may have regarding troubled times you had whilst a member of the Church. Did you have problems leaving?

I remember speaking to the brother of an ex-girlfriend of mine that was wrapped up in trying to leave the church but not being able too, however he wouldnt quite tell me why.

Have you taken part in any Anonymous (or other related) protests? If so, how do you feel they went and what would you recommend to those who want to create similar opportunites for people to express their opinions.

If anyone else would like to answer these few questions, feel free, I'm very open-minded about this whole process and would really like as much guidance as possible.

Apologies if it sounds like I don't know what I'm talking about, I realise this can be a highly contentious and touchy issue, but I was asked to complete this project for Uni and want to get it right.

Hi, I'm an exmember and, currently, a practicing Scientologist outside the confines of "The church of Scientology". Feel free to PM or email me. But I'm not in the UK.
I am truly into myself, yes. And I'm just as interested in other people. When I'm not thinking of one, I'm thinking of the other.

Your statement is unclear as to what you mean by scientology.

Scientology is commonly thought of by many in at least the following three DIFFERENT ways:

    A. The Church of Scientology, aka Co$.

    B. The complete publications of L.Ron Hubbard, written & spoken, with regard to the related subjects of dianetics, the technology of scientology auditing, training, and administrative procedures.

    C. The subject & practice of scientology/dianetics auditing alone as they relate to the efforts of an individual to develop greater understanding about their own spiritual nature.

Other "classifications" are possible but these are the three general perspectives which tend to dominate in discussion of the term.

So, from this framework, what is the intended focus of your article?

    Thanks for the help y'all.

I'm more focussing on the A and B factors of what the post above explains.

Seriously, thank you very much people!
