    Default Another ramble

Thank you all for your responses and helpful information. The only reason I'm enquiring about Brian Wingate is we (London Day approx. 60 staff) spent trillions of dollars and went pay-less to send this guy to Flag, as my replacement, to do OEC/FEBC. Rumour is he only survived a couple of months as ED London Day before being removed by an S.O. mission. I was long gone by then (though still a loyal Scn). This would have been 1977-1978. Anyone have any info about his tenure at HSOL?

    On to more interesting stuff:

Another ramble—involving Peter Buttery, Pedro Doria, Pam Thorne/Hurwitz, Diana Hopkins/Coventry c.1971-1972.

My aunt Mabel, who was about 75 years-old at the time and more like a mother to me, gave me my inheritance early so that I could pay for my Drug Rundown and follow-up auditing. I was a heroin addict—I believed Scn could help—so I did it and it worked splendidly (more about that in another episode).

She was impressed and I made her read DMSMH then SOS then got her into the org (London Day). Buttery was the C/S. I was still a student in the Academy. Well she did fine on Life Repair, or so she told me. Then she went on to ARC S/W and something went wrong—I don't know what, maybe hit more charge than the level could handle—she was a very deep, spiritual and rebellious person.

Buttery decided she was NCG (????) and C/S'd her for Power (Level V) at SH. It cures SP's don't you know;-) AND she had money. So, at great expense, she went off to East Grinstead to do Power under Cl. VIII C/S Pedro Doria.

(It was during Mabel's absence at SH that I set up my "after-hours academy" at her flat, close to the org, where Dave Allington, John Simons and others whose names I forget, racked up thousands of Student Points in extra-curricular, confidential, non-checksheet studies.)

I don't know who her auditor was—Murray Chopping comes to mind but I could be completely wrong about that. After some set-ups, and apparently ethics actions (well, OK, she was a card-carrying communist), which took several weeks (she told me she was getting worried about time and money—PTP?) she started on Power.

In her first session she had a near-fatal heart attack.

Medics were summoned (ah, the good old days) and resuscitation (CPR/defibrillilation) was successful (this is on record with the West Sussex (?) Emergency Services). After a hospital visit, Mabel was returned to her boarding house in EG and rested for a few days before returning to London.

When she came home, looking haggard and ten years older, she told me: "I'm thrilled at what they've done for you (getting me off heroin) and I'm happy for you, but I'm finished with them (Scn). I don't want anything more to do with them. You go ahead if you want to and it makes you happy. I won't stand in your way or give you any problems, I just never want to hear about Scn again."

I complied. Got rid of the LRH books, moved out the e-meters. Closed the "after-hours academy". Continued living at her flat all through the Academy Levels and until I married Anji without any "PTS" problems—good roads-good weather—no problems. We just didn't talk about Scn.—it was off the table.

Aunt Mabel, severely damaged, went into a steady decline, then dementia, then died.

The inheritance she gave me paid for my "Bridge" through OT III and Cl. IV. The balance of the inheritance—40,000 pounds—I "donated" to the "church" under a brilliant, brutal and sexual tag-team regging cycle by Pamela Thorne/Hurwitz and S.O. Missionaire Diana Coventry/Hopkins.

At least I got to sleep with Diana but I can't say it was worth 40,000 quid. We actually had a quite protracted and intense affair. Once again, apologies to her then husband, Ron "Hoppy" Hopkins.

Sorry, Hoppy, I was carried away.

    JHW

P.S. I know Hoppy got caught up in the Nazi thing, as did all the CLO and even our local org execs (notably Pam and Jay Hurwitz and Lesley Farrow/Woodcraft). Yes they have sins to atone for.

But it was Hoppy, in 1986 in Los Angeles, after a wonderful Flamenco concert, who finally cut the cord for me. I had been OUT for three years but was still worrying about my incomplete OT V (Audited NOTS). Gotta complete the level… unflat, fucking me up, yadda yadda.

He asked: "John Harry, has it ever occurred to you that you already know everything there is to know?"

You can ponder that question for yourself. It did it for me.

    More to come,

    JHW

I'm very curious about the Battle of Britain - what exactly happened there? In my family it was alluded to but never spoken of. I'm pretty sure some of my relations were involved, perhaps leading to their declares. I've read through this thread but any extra info would be greatly appreciated.

Girl was very upset, and the next day I was callled into ethics and told to destroy my ouji board and told that it had invalidated the girls auditing. Well, I did throw away the board but could never understand how a cardboard object with a warped sense of humor could invalidate auditing.

Pandora the Battle of Britain was fun fun fun!
The UK had been in a state of Emergency for a long time. We were shown the stats and they were apparently falling over many years. Sibersky ran the UK like Captain Blackbeard.

In London Org there were nightly musters, usually about 3am. If you were upstat you had a Union Jack pinned to you and if down stat you had a scull and crossbones. Upstat were allowed to go home and sleep and the rest carried on working. It wasn't uncommon for people to walk out of the muster and get declared. Members of the public also walked out and were rewarded with goldenrod. The mimeo officer had great stats with all the declares.

The UK orgs had shrank and the public disaffected.

Many evalutions were done and non really resolved anything. The point is that it was done just as Ron intended and that he was the who and the why and no one else. Sibersky, how we hated him, was just obeying the loving founder's every word.

He was only there for ten days. The insane scene went on for months afterwards, with FLUK staff following the "successful actions."

Paul, he must have been a truly confused man to have caused such tidal waves.

Honestly, I though he must have been around for months.

Did he only spread his love to Saint Hill and London or did he attack the other Orgs too?

When I walked into the Circus tent I really was hallucinating from lack of sleep and food, I saw him arriving in a Nazi open staff car. He seemed to be giving his Nuremberg address from a boxing ring.

One moment of my life I would like to relive is when he first came to London he said that we were free to go if we wanted to. I should have walked out at that moment. Never mind I walked out in the end.

I think the whole of the UK was affected. SH was the epicentre, and London was nearest, of course.

    Thanks, Paul.

    Is it over yet?

I heard there was some kind of issue apologising for the whole fiasco.
