I have no interest in the matter, but I will pass along this info I received that might be of relevance to some here (or anyone who comes Googling in the future). It is regarding the recent death of Melbourne Scientologist George Ross.

    Dear Fellow Scientologists,

It is with great sadness we announce that George Ross left his body on Sunday morning, 12th of February 2012.

George was 82 years old, he became a Scientologist in 1973 and made many friends in his life both old and new. We warmly welcome you to attend his farewell.

Monday 20th of February at 1:00pm

    It will be held at:

    Heritage and Heritage Funerals
733 Boronia Road, Wantirna. (Eastlink turn left at Boronia Road exit)

From The Ross Family - Eva, Catriona, Alexandra and Isobel

    Glenda Walsh
    Chaplain Melbourne Day
    0433 014 311
(sorry the info is a little out of date)

    Hello

Apologies for bumping such an old post but does anyone have anymore information about the deaths of Howard & Pam Thompson (really shocked to see their names here)

Likewise. Howard gave me my first ever Scientology Intro Lecture... it was 1974, in the Kitchen of his house. If anyone has any information... thanks.

I didn't come to CW until after I left the SO, so that would explain why we never crossed paths! I do remember your name though, which means you either spent time at PAC, were high profile, or knew someone I knew.

I got hammered at many a location while in Hollywood, including but not limited to: my office at PAC, the PBC van, the Whiskey, the roof over Lebanon Hall, the Griffith Park Observatory, Florentine Gardens, a few different dive bars, Carlos & Charlies, an underground pool hall where they filmed some scenes from "The Hustler" back in th 60s, Mr. Ed's Bowling Alley, and the PAC bakery (while shooting at rats and Palmetto bugs with pellet guns). All good memories!

You predate me by a few years I was there 1979/1980 ish. Always had a lot of respect for Howard even when I left Scientology (driven out by the odious Richard Lynes/Mick Knowles duo) he was still very civil towards me.

Surprised to hear of his death though he was only about 15 years older than I am now (50) did hear some years ago that he had lost a leg due to ill health.

Is the Pamela Harris/Flood/Thompson listed above Howard's ex wife I wonder (sure her surname was Rek at some point)

PS: Always felt I owed Howard and his family an apology, Xmas 1979 the whole Leeds Scientology crew went to a party given by Howard's parents, I got rat arsed and made an utter t*t of myself and I think we all had to leave early. Howard's dad was particularly upset because I kept putting on a hat that had belonged to late friend of his and 'dancing' around in it. Been ashamed of that for many years.

Many years too late but I'm sorry :

Did you ever get over to Barney's Beanery? Went there one night when I was in PAC with Dave Bloomberg and we got totally rat arsed.

I was over in PAC a lot in 84 through 85.
