Don't be sorrrrrrry Lotus. With a name like that you must be a flower to behold. Not to mention a spectacular piece of engineering that can float along at 120 MPH without a whimper. Ha, if I were sorry for my over 2000 sorry posts, I would be a basket case.

Hey Lotus, I think nobody ever posted a MIDI file here on ESMB before. Thanks.

A hint to those who don't know it: MIDI files are just data that needs to be interpreted by your (software-)synthesizer, so the sound depends on the system you use. Windows Media Player and my cheap soundcard didn't give me good results, but next week I'll have to set up my "big" (lol) "sound machine" anyway, so let's see how it sounds on that one.

There is a program out there that will convert any MIDI file to a WAV using wave-table synthesis. As a jump from FM-synthesis, it's great, but after a while it starts to sound like a street organ. Just do a search for WINGROOVE.EXE

Thank you Lotus. Bach is great stuff, isn't it!

    Yes it is.

I hear Bach music, cellos and violins, when walking in the forest and listening to the wind's song flowing through branches and leaves. After reaching ''emptiness'' and ''stillness'' into my mind,
and becoming part of the nature, (true nature)
I can hear Bach music and see elves flying all around me.
Birds are talking with me - foxes are coming to make friend with a smile

    These are my beautifull lunacy

(cello vibrate with soul, on peace frequency)

    * Some midi files are of ''lesser'' quality but some are better.
The advantage is that most of them are shared without any copyright issues
So can be used on website freely.

Danger, Lotus, the fact that the Copyright Mafia is currently focusing on *.MP3 files etc, doesn't mean that they will not go after the MIDIs. A German game forum has recently been in big trouble because of that.

Rule of thumb: interprets go after their recordings, composers and arrangers go after their data.

    Jus' sayin'

Thanks RPX, but I use Timidity , Synthfonts and a 10 Gigabyte collection of Soundfonts, combined with 2 Keyboards on my "big" system, plus a cheap little 4-channel-mixer mixer that can output *.WAV directly via USB. I just don't have it all ready for use ATM, because I don't have enough space in my tiny living-room . But yes, Wingroove is a useful little program.
