Fair Gamed by Scientologists in the Boston area

I've never been a Scientologist, and I've never even read Dianetics. I've also never said anything negative about Scientology as far as I can remember. It hasn't even been on my radar.

However, I find myself being constantly fair gamed by Scientologists and am not sure why it is happening. It appears that this has been going on for decades and I've chalked most of it up to bad luck and a world filled with run of the mill weirdos, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I can clearly see a pattern of known members of Scientology seeking me out, befriending me, and then trying to set me up for some misfortune or another. Also, now that Facebook is so popular, I can see that many of these people are connected to each other.

The harassment so far has included:

    - False bids and interference in the sale of my house.
    - Starting false rumors and contacting neighbors and relatives. The rumors have changed as the years have gone on.
    - Cutting the brake lines on my truck.
    - Nails in the tires.
    -Tracking my whereabouts via GPS.
    -Revenge Porn
    -Hacking my computer.
-Disruption of service on my business web site.
-Trying to get my business shut down.
    - Cat was poisoned (died).
    -Vandalized property. Some theft.
    - Scientologist Doctors (three of them) either prescribing wrong medication, refusing to administer medication, and tampering with test results.
    - Scientologist boyfriends who had secret Scientologist girlfriends at the same time they were dating me. Never disclosed they were Scientologists.
-Scientology related police officer contacting friends with false information. Asking them to be secret agents.
    -Noise harassment.
    etc. etc. etc.

When I confront these people about their behavior, I am treated as though I am victimizing them, and then things escalate.

No one in my family will admit to being a Scientologist. It appears my Step-mother has many Scientology contacts, but denies knowing why I am being harassed. My mother and father divorced when I was ten and my father moved to Florida when I was in my late teens. I only saw him a few times a year after that, and if he was involved with Scientology he never disclosed it. He passed away in 2010. but the stalking continues.

So this is what I am hoping to find out...

    1. Is there an official Scientology leader in Boston that I should talk to? It seems I am missing some key piece of information here, and I think I should try to get all the facts.

    2. Can anyone in Scientology order that someone be put on the hit list? Is there a committee? How does it work?

    3. Since I have no relationship with Scientology, what is the religion hoping to achieve? If they had wanted me to join, this doesn't seem to be the way they would go about it.

I've gone through some old SP lists, and my name isn't on any of them.

    Just looking for some answers,
    Rusty

    Hi Rusty.

I'm a bit puzzled by the amount of apparent harassment that you've had when you say that you've never had anything to do with scientology........

However, you do seem familiar with some of the scientology jargon, such as "fair gamed". Have you been researching the subject?

You also mentioned no less than 3 scientology doctors who wrongly prescribed to you. Although it's quite possible for scientology doctors to care for non scientology people, it's a bit of a rarity that a non scientologist would somehow find 3 of them!!! Not saying that I don't believe this, but can you elaborate how this came about?

You also mentioned scientology boyfriends, so I assume more than one? Now, this IS a bit of a rarity because few scientologists have relationships with non scientologists. If they do then the relationship isn't destined to last long................ Could you clarify how you came about dating scientologists?

You also mentioned your step mother having scientology contacts. This again is a bit of a rarity unless she is actually a scientologist herself.

Did your real mum and father have anything to do with scientology?

Excuse the interrogation, but it just seems odd that this group are harassing you to the point of potential attempted murder!! (Cut brake lines and nails in tyres).

You would have to be considered a major enemy of the CoS for them to run this type of campaign against you, and had you been doing anything to trigger this type of response by the CoS they surely would have let you know exactly why they had a problem with you.

Scientologist doctors such as MD's who can prescribe medicine are very rare. Your odds of just happening to have had three of them as a doctor are probably only slightly better than running into three unicorns in the same week.

IF all of this is true, especially the basic lack of direct connection to Scientology, it makes no sense.

Scientology is not the only group or individual that is capable of such harassment. Given the premise that the OP has done nothing to antagonize the Church of Scientology -- then it would NOT be the CoS that is doing the harassment.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad to have a sanity check.

I understand that this seems incredible, and Scientology was the last group on my list that I thought was behind the harassment. I have names of the people involved. And I can link these people directly to Scientology. But maybe it is just one high level Scientologist with access to lots of people in the group who are willing to do them favors. Maybe it is not an official fair gaming from the Church? If Scientology isn't behind this, then they need to know about their members that are using their network for personal reasons.

That is why I need to find a friendly and official Scientology contact in the Boston area who would be willing to have a chat. I can't figure out if Gerard Renna is still around. I can't find contact information for him. Does anyone have a contact? Should I go directly to New York?

    Here is some additional information:
    - My father was seeing my step-mother for at least five years before my parents got divorced. If she brought him into Scientology, then my mother would not have known about Scientology, and my father would have needed to keep it hidden from my mother.

-My father was a fairly high profile attorney, and was in the wealth management business. After reading through some of his court cases, some of his clients are/were in Scientology. That is, I can match them or their spouses up with training records posted on the internet.

-I first believed the stalking was caused by the Freemasons. My father became a member of the Freemasons in 1972 but it appears he was expelled for some reason. I only know he was ever a member because Freemason records are available on Ancestry.com. This is where I first heard the term "fair gaming" as it is something mostly attributed to Freemasons. However, I can't really match the names up with the Freemasons. There seems to be more in common with Scientology. And if he was an enemy of the Freemasons, it certainly didn't hurt his business.

    - As far as the doctor's are concerned, I didn't mean to imply that I had three Scientology doctors at the same time. The first doctor recommended the second doctor as a specialist. The third doctor was a resident who asked if it was ok if he sit in my surgery. I said ok not knowing anything about him. I had different problems with all of them. With two it was around medication, and the third it was a misdiagnosis and change in medical results/medical records. The first two doctors were already connected to each other. The third doctor I believe was tipped off by the other two, but was in a different field. There was no reason for him to be involved in my case. He invited himself in and I ok'd it.

-There are Scientologists on both sides of my family, but no one very close to me. Mostly second and third cousins on both sides. My third cousin appears on an SP list. But no one is harassing her the way they are harassing me. So yeah, I don't get it.

-All my childhood friends are from Scientology families, but never discussed Scientology with me. They stopped being my friend around the time my father married my step-mother. That's when they started spreading rumors about me and became antagonistic, so they eventually fell off.

-Both my sisters were also harassed by people related to Scientologists. For my younger sister it stopped when she got married. For my older sister it continues, but is a much milder form and doesn't affect her day to day. For my younger sister the harassment was so bad at one point that she threatened suicide.

-There are several people involved in this that are members of the Christian Identity movement. So for the past few years I've been focused on the people who are from CI families. There is some overlap between this group and Scientology. And I'm Jewish so I've been trying to fit it into an antisemitism framework. But it just doesn't fit neatly. Most Scientologists don't appear to be white supremacists. These few people appear to be the exception. Are you allowed to be a Scientologist and involved in a hate group at the same time?

Like I said, I know the people who are doing this. I know their names and where they live. And it is a long list of names. I have some concrete evidence. What I don't have is a motive. And as some of you have been pointing out, I need to be sure that this is really about Scientology to be fair to everyone involved. I can't understand what anyone would have to gain by doing this. I'm just not that important.

Any ideas? Are there other groups out there that gang-stalk and fair game that I should be aware of?

    Thanks again,
    Rusty

    Rusty,

This is getting more and more incredible.........

First of all there MUST be a good reason for people to harass you in the manner in which you have described...... No matter WHO it is, you should have some idea as to WHY. This is more than just some kids having a laugh. In that instance they would eventually get bored and move onto someone else.

If what you say is true, then you MUST have seriously upset scientology big time.

Put it this way, I once took them through the wringer via the legal system to get a considerable amount of my money back from them. During the three and a half years that it took they left me alone. No visits, no phone calls, no "noisy investigations". Nothing!!! And this is despite the fact that they knew that eventually they'd have to cough up, which they did in the end.

They would have had a lot more reason to go after me than yourself in view of the fact that you've "never had anything to do with them". Believe me, they have better things to do these days, such as trying to silence critics and trying to prevent tell all books being published. They would not be going after someone who has "never had anything to do with them".......

Either supply some REAL information or you'll have to accept that people on this message board simply will not believe you.

Karen's post above says it as it is.............

I understand that. And I wish I knew the reason this was happening.

At this point I was looking for the name of a contact person at the Church that people on this board would recommend for a conversation. I'm perfectly willing to supply names and dates and points of contact to the Church in hopes of getting some clarification.

If it is the Church itself that has a problem with me, I'd hope that they would at least be open to a conversation. And if I get that clarification from them, I will let the members of this board know what caused the problem. If it is not the Church, then it may be individuals who happen to be involved with the church. But at least I'll know at that point that it has nothing to do with Scientology.

    Thanks again,
    Rusty

    Hi Rusty,

I'm from England so don't know of any scientologists in the Boston area. I'm sure if you go onto scientology's own website you'll find addresses and phone numbers of their organisations local to you.

Personally I wouldn't recommend ANY contact with people from their organisations. Even less so if you actually enter their building.............. I think you'll find that's the majority opinion of other people on this message board too.

I still say that something's not quite right here. Scientology is undoubtedly a rather nasty, dangerous cult, but they don't go after people in the way you describe without good reason. Good reason in their distorted reality anyway..................

Has anyone "disconnected" from you? That's usually the first thing to happen when someone falls out of favour. You are associated with some scientologists so I would have thought that you would have heard of someone wanting to disconnect from you by now.

The apparent harassment against you is copybook scientology "fair game" tactics, but not usually reserved for someone who hasn't had much to do with them.

Only other thing I can think of is that they've mistaken you for someone else. But that someone else must have pissed them off big time.......!!

Rusty you seem to have done a lot of research and could easily find the contact information for the Boston Org, probably much easier than you would have found this board...

If these things are happening and you even have proof of who the culprits are why not just go to the police in your area?

Rusty, you could do a search for something called a "targeted individual." Supposedly, if you piss off a person with the right underworld/military/intel connections, you can get targeted as part of an experiment. More likely it's an old boyfriend or you are mistaken.

    Rusty,

If you have names and details of the harassment and you are certain it's being done by scientologists, warn them today politely (in writing and directed to OSA, ie the office of special affairs) that you are going to take it to the Police if it doesn't stop immediately ... then wait a week or so (scientologists operate very slowly despite claims to the contrary) and then if it hasn't stopped take it to the Police.

In other words treat this as you would any other harassment, because that is what it (apparently) is.

This story gets wilder as time goes on.

At first you give the impression that you haven't had anything to do with Scientology.

First you say no one in your family is in Scientology. Then you say you have cousins in both sides of your family that are Scientologists and one is an SP. Hmmm...

Then you say that all your childhood friends were from Scientology families. Were they in your neighborhood or did you go to school with them? Usually, from my experience, kids in Scientology families tend to play with other kids from Scientology families. And Scientologists tend to send their kids to Scientology schools whenever they can afford to do so. How did you manage to have all these childhood friends who were from Scientology families?

Then you say you had boyfriends that were in Scientology. How did you manage that? Where did you find them? Did they try to get you to join Scientology or try to get you to take courses?

You say you had three Scientology doctors. How did you know they were Scientologists? I've never met a doctor in my whole life who discussed their religion with me. How did you manage to find that first Scientology doctor?

You say your stepmother has a lot of Scientology friends. How do you know her friends are Scientologists?

I've never in my life seen any person outside of Scientology who has so many Scientologists in their life. You seem to be surrounded by Scientologists. Scientologists tend to disseminate Scientology whenever and wherever they can ..... they try to get others involved....try to get them to come into the org to see what it's about and try to get them to take a course. Did any of these Scientologists that you were surrounded with ever try to do that with you?

You say you know the people who are doing this harassment of you, and you say you know where they live and you have some concrete evidence. Why do you have to have a motive and know if they are Scientologists for sure before you go to the police?

Cousins, doctors, childhood friends, boyfriends, stepmother's friends, all Scientologists.....and you've never had anything to do with Scientology, never spoke out against them and they have been after you all this time?

Oh, yes, and you say some of those who are part of this assault on you are from the Christian Identity Movement but they are connected to Scientology in some way?

This is the strangest story I have ever heard. Makes no sense. :headspin:

Rusty, scientology is a VERY small religion. There are probably no more than 20,000 scientologists in the whole world. From what you've said so far it seems like you are in contact with most of those in the Boston area yet you say you've had nothing to do with scientology.

I was in scientology for over 15 years and I've never met a scientology doctor but you know three of them! I agree with those who've said your story just doesn't add up.

I agree this is bizarre. And unbelievable. And I am trying to make sense out of it myself.

At this point I am functioning under the assumption that my father joined Scientology and never told us (his children). I looked at his online obituary and about half of the people who left condolences are verifiable Scientologists. I don't know why he wouldn't tell us. And I don't know at what point he joined, but I assume he was in it when he met my step-mother or shortly thereafter. If my mother was in it, she no longer is and seems to have no recognition of the names of other people in the group.

I have gone to the police about specific instances when I need the police get involved. For example, when someone is trespassing on my property or making a noise disturbance. I've learned to report these incidences and not get into whether or not it is a gang-stalking conspiracy. And I don't allege to the police that anyone in particular is behind it. I just try to handle each incident appropriately as it happens. When I need the police to get involved to mediate, I get them involved. But I try to use the police as mediators, not private detectives.

When something just needs to be documented, I document it. For example, if someone follows me around a store photographing me, or is suspiciously hanging around my car, a photograph of them or a license plate number is all that is needed. If you were to call the police on any of those types of incidences, the person doing the following would just say they were photographing the store and I got in the way or they were just waiting for a friend in the parking lot. There is nothing the police would be able to do in those circumstances, so I don't bother.

The idea is that it is the combination of police reports, mechanic reports, medical reports, personal documentation, photographs, provable connections and statistical probability could prove beyond a reasonable doubt that there has been a conspiracy of some sort going on. But motive and intent would also be important if I ever needed to go to court. And I just don't have a motive.

I think the idea of putting something to OSA in writing is a good idea. It is probably best to have a record of the correspondence as part of the documentation. My goal right now is resolution instead of escalation. I don't have plans right now for anything beyond that. I didn't know about OSA, so thank you for that information. I will try to find an address.

Just to clarify, I didn't know that I had ANY family with Scientology connections until I started researching them online recently. Having access to some of the training records have been helpful. I personally have no involvement with Scientology.

Until recently, I had been functioning under the assumption that it was an ex or a colleague with ties to Christian Identity or some other group that has a history of "mobbing". Scientologists don't generally "mob", but I have experienced this. And there are a few people I've crossed paths with that have ties to Christian Identity. As some of you have noted, this doesn't feel like a typical Scientology case. And from what I've been researching, this does seem atypical if it is Scientology.

I think the strangest part of the whole thing is that not one person has mentioned Scientology to me. Even people who are clearly very involved with Scientology.

Some of the boyfriends I met through work, and looking at the departments they were full of family members with Scientology names. They seemed to know who I was, and in a few cases there were references to my father, but not of them mentioned Scientology.

I don't think I am important enough to garner the attention of the criminal underworld, the CIA or MK-Ultra, so I'm ruling that out. I'm fairly average in every way.

However, if my father was Scientology-and his clients were Scientologists- I could understand that members of the Scientology community would either assume I was also involved in Scientology (but not behaving accordingly), or at least not want the money my father earned from Scientology to be passed down to an "outsider". I could understand that. But would Scientology try to cause trouble between me and my father just so he would write me out of his will? It would have seemed more productive to just try to bring the kids into Scientology or instruct him to disconnect from them.

My friends and I lived close together. I think one family in particular was probably already involved in Scientology when I became friends with them. I'm not sure they all were, but I think more joined as the years went on. I think one person brought others into it. But I'm not positive.

I grew up in South Brookline and attended Brookline Public Schools. There may have been some teachers/admin involved, but I don't know to what extent. This would have been in the 70s and 80s. I'm not aware of any students being brought into Scientology by teachers or by admin. My older sister had a very bad run-in with a teacher in the elementary school who was picking on her relentlessly. My mother went up to the school to complain. I've been able to find that teacher's family in Scientology records. We don't know why the teacher picked on her. She was a very meek/quiet child and would not have been a troublemaker.

Let me just say that I don't blame you for not believing me. It has been strange.

    Thanks again,
    Rusty
