Many months ago when I got out of Scientology I sent an e-mail to my daughter roughly saying the following:
I told her that I am no longer in Scientology and that the reasons for that are my own (her mother is in a very strong Scientology family). I warned her and said that one day Scientology would ask her to choose between me and Scientology.
I said the decision is yours and whatever decision you make will not change how I feel about you, I will always be your Dad and love you more than anything in this world and am always here for you.
Well, I just got off the phone with my 13 year old daughter who was in tears as Scientology was forcing her to never speak to me again due to the fact that I have been out spoken about my negative experiences in Scientology.
This is what happened.
We have been planning a trip for my two kids from my previous marriage to come out to Australia for a visit. I have sent the air ticket money and visa documents and they were supposed to...
SCIENTOLOGY BOOK OF GENESIS: "Thus commandeth Ron the Commodore to Martin "Noah" Rathbun to construct a sea worthy vessel to save himself, his family, and the world's Scientologists from a worldwide deluge. For the Commodore postulated a great flood to destroy the earth because of man's evil out ethics and tech corruption. And thus Martin didst build for his Lord an Ideal Ark..."
Thus it was that Minister-Marty-Messenger-Of-Ron traveled the world in search of representatives from each species of Scientologist to join him at Sea, that they be salvaged from the the terrible technical tsunami begat by the Devil, David Miscavige.
And come they did, like pilgrims journeying to Mecca. The Believer, the Standard Tech Auditor, the Loyal Officer, the On Policy Businessman, The Clear Housewife, the former Sea Org Member and many others. And oh yes, the OT VIII. Remember that last one....
My name is Mike Roiger and I am formally disconnecting from the Church of Scientology after 18 years, 14 or which were on Staff, and 12 of those posted as the Senior Case Supervisor at the Cincinnati Class V Organization. I am a Grad VA C/S (XDN Specialist), CCRD C/S (2006), FPRD C/S, Purif C/S, KTL/LOC C/S, etc (all GAT). I did over 50 courses in various academies from Atlanta to Cincinnati to AOSH UK to Flag.
BAMFA stands for Bad-Ass MotherF--kin’ Auditor. This originated in the late 90’s when I cracked my first case, read that turned a $700 Life Repair cycle into a 12-Intensive package ($26.4K). I was a bit on the cocky side back then, and we developed a “new” class of auditor when we cracked cases, i.e., BAMFA. There were 4 or 5 of us and we had baseball caps made with the GAT symbol on the front and “BAMFA” on the back.
I would like to start out the thread by going over the last few months on Staff. I won’t go into too many details at the start here, but fill...
Nominations for the stupidest moments in Scientology's 60 year history are now being accepted.
I would like to nominate for your consideration:
Tom cruise proudly showing off
his Freedom Medal of Valor
A sociopathic con man validates
his delusional co-conspirator.
Sure, I can see where that would be freedom and valor.
Shooting Stars: LRH & the Mission Holder's Kristallnacht—My “Take”
“It’s time for everyone to sit back, relax and enjoy…All! That! Jazz!” Bob Fosse
Over a few installments…not sure how many yet, probably 3 or 4…I hope to, as best I can, say what I wanted say when I first posted here almost a year ago. Having ESMB to post stuff on and all Y’all to read and comment on has done me a world of good. I hope something in this is helpful to someone else now or on down the road.
Thank you, blownstaffmember, for making the comment that led to me to realize that this was something I needed to do…thanks a whole bunch for your superb rhetorical question, “Was there anything that elron did that wasn't sophomoric?”
For anyone that comes across this thread somewhere down the river and hasn’t read the first two parts of my “Take” on the Apollo Stars it may be helpful, for full “context”, to do so before reading this....
Here is my story about brainwashing
As you know I have tried unsuccessfully to get this posted elsewhere. I have tried also to tell this story many times since it occurred to me that it might be helpful, but it does not seem to be of interest or there is a lot of apathy out there which is certainly understandable. I retell this here as it is about the tech and I think its useful in explaining a lot of what has happened over the years.
Firstly, I swear that this is the absolute and complete truth even though it occurred 37 years ago.
Secondly, a little about me which might put things into perspective as to why I saw what I am about to say as very significant and in a way horrific.I was in the SO for a little under 14 years. I attained the "rank' of Lt. Commander through promotions only by Hubbard. I was OEC and FEBC(trained by Hubbard) , HSDC, Class nine when I left in December 27 1981, as well as DSEC, Nots auditor, plus assorted other stuff. I was OT five plus nots, plus sec...
While Scientologists are industriously (and rather hysterically) running about, pushing the stats up, getting ethics in, clearing the planet and salvaging this sector of the universe....they kinda don't have the time to stop and explain what they are really thinking.
You know? Firetruck speeding to put out a blaze and all that--all those wogs running along snipping & yapping at their heels?
Carrying the weight of the world on their worn and uber-responsible shoulders, as they do, Scientologists just simply can't be dev-T'd in order to to brief the people of earth on what what the hell is going on. This unfortunately creates a itsy-bitsy, teenie-weenie "gap" between what the Scientologist is actually thinking and what the WOG knows.
By the way---if you just got the idea that the Scientologist has WITHHOLDS, you are dead wrong, buddy! Scientologists don't have withholds because those are all gotten off in session using an electronic testing device to ensure that...
I decided to once and for all take a look at my Scientology experiences this morning. I have been conveniently ignoring some of it in my often frenetic criticism of the crazy Scientology church organization. I woke up at 6:30 am today to a wonderful thunderstorm. I made a pot of coffee, sat down on the front porch, where my home sits on a high hill surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest and valleys in the Smoky Mountains, and spent a few hours "reviewing/reliving" it all. It was nice, as the lightning came and went, the fog rolled on up the valley, and the low clouds often quickly dashed across the sky.
I started with the day I walked into the first Scientology org, and scanned through all of my experiences, reliving them as I did at the time THEN. I will be posting other reports, such as my experiences with auditing, and also as I encountered some nutty aspect of Scientology, but this report is of TRs and the Comm Course.
I started first with the TR Course. I am pretty...
...medical malpractice, espionage within the family, taking away human rights.
Today I will start to tell the complete horror story of my family in and in contact with the Church of Scientology which is going on since more than 35 years now with no end in sight.
I will dedicate this story to my mother.
My mum when she was still full of dreams and her first baby Uwe
She had to suffer the most under the crimes of this so called "Church" although they presented themselves not as a church when we were lured in around 1976 – religion was not popular at all then, so the people who contacted my father in Munich were telling him that it was a "modern science of mental health" then suddenly they called it "applied religious philosophy" to change it into a "Church" some years later. But in fact it is simply a fraudulent money making organization.
If you are completely uninterested in Old Guard history and drama then skip to the bottom for the tl:dr.
I’m writing this account of the leak of The Tom Cruise Video to set the historical record straight. I’ve leaked lots of stuff but this one needs to be accurately reported on because this leak was a huge turning point in the
anti Scientology community and our efforts to expose the cult.
EDIT: I've corrected the dates and links to my report.
The event was the 2004 IAS Event not the 2005 event
THAT WACKY TOM CRUISE VIDEO OR SCIENTOMOLOGY.
Back in 2007 I received a copy of Scientology’s 2004 IAS (International Association of Scientologists) Event DVD featuring that now famous Tom Cruise video clip of him receiving the Medal of Valor from the Scientology dictator and tyrant, David Miscavige. The video that basically set Anonymous into action after Scientology tried to take the video down
I had originally reported on the 2004 IAS event back in November of 2005. You can...
I read two posts today on OCMB that really show the extent of the voilence and abuse of Miscavige. There are many such reports, including all the interviews in the St Petersburg Times. For the benefit of lurkers and new posters, here they are to start the thread. Perhaps links to the many other reports can be posted when I have time to find them. Just a reminder of what the management of the "Church of Scientology" is about.
In the world of normal events and situations, greatness is recognized naturally. Certain people "stick out" and "shine as stars", because of their accomplishments. Without any force, coercion or propaganda, these people come to be viewed as "special". This unfolds "naturally".
Albert Einstein, Plato, Thomas Jefferson, and many others are recognized for their contributions to the ever-evolving "knowledge" on Earth. A fellow like Stephen Hawking is recognized as a wonderful scientist because he IS a wonderful scientist who has done much to bring the world of complex science to the man in the street.
Now take a dufus like L. Ron Hubbard. There is NOTHING actually special about him. There is surely NOTHING about him that any city, state, our country would naturally come to recognize as standing out above the rest. In any society the people simply admire and respect certain people naturally. It just...
This is happening right now.
Tonight, just moments ago, Debbie Cook sent this email to approximately twelve thousand OT Scientologists. Yes it is Hubbard loving. Yes she's a true believer. But look past that as you read this letter and imagine what sort of impact this could have on the top disseminators & donors on the planet.
Debbie hasn't aligned herself with the Indie movement or us degraded SPs. She's stayed in good standing after her offload from the Sea Org.
Just a reminder of who she is:
And here is her email:
Message from Debbie Cook
I am emailing you as a friend and fellow Scientologist. As we enter a new year, it is hoped that 2012 can be a year of great dissemination and a year of real progress up The Bridge for all Scientologists.
Although I am not in the Sea Org right now, I served in the Sea Org at Flag for 29...

Church of Scientology sues longtime Clearwater leader over New Year's Eve email

The Church of Scientology has sued its longtime Clearwater leader Debbie Cook after she publicly questioned the church's aggressive fundraising tactics and other practices.
The lawsuit — filed Friday in San Antonio, Texas, where Cook lives — reveals that the church paid Cook and her husband, Wayne Baumgarten, $50,000 each to remain silent about their time on church staff.
WARNING: WALL OF TEXT FOLLOWS!! (It’s pretty boring so tl;dr is completely understandable)
Not long ago, our own lovely “Freetoshine” started a thread on here using a posting I had made elsewhere:
Part of my posting told a bit of a story of myself that I had never told publically before. In part, it covered that I, like many Ex scientologists, was damaged goods and the fact that I had been hurt by the practice of scientology while at Flag.
In part I hoped to let others know that they need not be embarrassed if they too were victims of scientology “tech”, that there was nothing wrong with them if they were or are victims and I hoped that somehow affected people might realize that it is OK to be vulnerable and in fact it takes courage to be vulnerable publically.
I talked about getting therapy to help me deal with the “handlings” I got when in...
Sweating my brains out
I’m starting at part 12 not to be cute, but because it seems like the right place to start. A few people have asked me to write up my story from inside scientology, and I’ve approached it a few times and got nowhere. It’s something I want to do, but when I think about it I keep hanging up at one part of the story—an episode that I think explains a lot about me, my behavior and why I may seem quite different from the way I was in the seventies, when a lot of people in the cult knew me. I’ve labeled it part 12 because it’s # 12 on the outline I drew up to help me with my story.
I actually got into the cult in 1969 and later I’ll try to go into that and into how I think I got hooked, but for now, I’m going to skip to summer 1977 in Los Angeles. (Summer ’77 to the best of my recollection—could be off a bit. I was then qual sec at Celebrity Centre Los Angeles, having been promoted from the post of chief cramming officer in 1976.) The...
Since 1986 there are as many people spotting Ron as Elvis.
Scientologists keep spotting him in the theta universe.
Rumors keep swirling that he is alive...
If you see him, please post here.
He was last seen in a dandy cowboy getup. Probably some kind of disguise he needed cause paparazzi and fans tend to mob the reincarnated Buddha.
Many years ago, within the structure of the C of S, Flag was paramount. But removed and cloaked in secrecy was the special unit, hidden in various places, primarily southern Calif. However, removed and hidden from those at the special unit was a series of smaller bases, where Hubbard worked with a trusted few. Many of their names are known. Some are not.
I spent thousands of hours over many years in daily contact with the man. I experienced first hand more than most could even imagine.
Only the very tip of the iceberg is talked about here.
Few can truly understand what went on in the final days.
I'm still uncertain if I want to even discuss it.
Most people who read this are already going to know something about Kyle Brennan and his horrible death some five years ago at scientology’s “mecca” in Clearwater, Florida.
Kyle, a lovely, innocent and kindly boy, a gentle nerd who would not hurt a fly, died from a gunshot wound to the head on February 16, 2007.
The circumstances surrounding Kyle’s death are highly suspicious.
Kyle Brennan died at least in part due to the beliefs of scientology and scientologists as his medically prescribed medication was hidden from him with demands that he instead do highly dangerous and unscientific scientology “therapy” such as that done in its front group “Narconon”.
Scientologists are hardly the only ones in danger of being victims of such quackery....
For the newbies, here a story of a true Scientologist... who was betrayed

Scientologist Greg Bashaw reached far beyond the mythical plateau of achievement that Scientologists call "clear." Bashaw rose to Operating Thetan Level 7 or "OT7."
Putting this in pop perspective, movie stars John Travolta and Tom Cruise have not yet reached the level Bashaw achieved.
The highest level a Scientologist can hope for is OT8.
But after 20 years of Scientology courses, auditing and training Bashaw killed himself.
He was married and left behind a teenage son. Bashaw was once a successful advertising executive, but he died broke, deeply in debt and unemployed. And the church he had dedicated so much of his life to abandoned him through "excommunication."
Greg's father Bob struggles to understand what happened to his son. He...
