Church of Scientology staffer in Quebec City earned $70 for nearly 39 hours of work, document shows
Organization says its staff are 'religious workers,' but expert says that title doesn't exist in Quebec law
CBC News · Posted: Jun 13, 2018 4:00 AM ET

A staff member of the Church of Scientology working in Quebec City in December 2017 was paid just under $70 for what appears to be nearly 39 hours of work, according to documents obtained by Radio-Canada's Enquête investigative news program from a confidential source.
That's less than $2 an hour — and far less than the minimum wage, which was $11.25 per hour at the time in Quebec.

The minimum wage in the province rose to $12 an hour on May 1.
But the organization says its employees are "religious workers."
Pay depends on church revenue, ex-members say

According to the doctrine espoused by the Church of Scientology's founder, L. Ron Hubbard, staff members aren't paid by the hour, but rather by "units," former members of the church told Radio-Canada.

    Interesting

It raises the right concerns regarding volunteering or staff paid illegal low wages ?????

A volunteer doesn not get paid!
A staff must be paid at least minimum wage!

Let's suppose this issue is addressed in one country and then in some more..it would be a real pain for the CO$ since it relies on slave labour to expand...
Let's suppose there are some court ruling and people are then suing the CO$ for not paying them minimum wage...

It will never happen in the USA. Haven't you read the 47th Amendment to the Constitution? Here I will quote if for you.

"DMOPL December 23 1960. The cult of Scientology is hereby exempt from inspection or liability regarding any matters which involve injustice in any criminal or civil or kangaroo court." "And to Hell with Madison or any of the founding Fathers of the USA. Big Bean's don't have founding fathers or mothers for that matter.
Ratified by the only treasonous state within the USA upon the Assumption of Power of a 4' 11" scoundrel who travels the world cutting ribbons for Lies.
