The identifying label for the individual who received the medal has been rubbed off. This is gold tone, not gold or silver. Comes with box -- definitely not in new condition, lots of warping.

    Printed on medal:
    Side one:
    Side two:
    LRH 1960, 85

    Diameter: 2-2/8 inch
    Thickness: about 1/8 inch
    Weight: 134g

Is it me or does it look like it's been thrown at the floor/wall a few times?

I hope the seller gets at least $10 to help in their old age.

Hopefully they don't blow it on more services.

I shouldn't be, but I'm surprised at how poorly made those are.

DM should be ashamed to award such trash:

My first impression was that it is lacquered brass that got contaminated with sweat or something like salad dressing from the awards banquet before being set aside and forgotten but it might be a cheaper base metal with an electroplated coating and the discoloration could be permanent corrosion between the layers. The loop looks like super cheap plated pot metal that only needed to last the ceremony.

It might be worth buying just to have it analyzed so the results can be posted here.

When I look at the nameplate, all I can make out is

Which probably means the original owner fell foul of the cult and had scratched a new name on it, and why the seller made such a mess of removing the name - it was already defaced.

Perhaps software which allows image manipulation might help bring out details of the image? I'm no expert at that, so don't know if that would help or not.

Unless Jesus Christ returned to Earth to save us all, did a little auditing and realized it was all an implant and decided to go up the bridge.

Unlikely since the inscription was for "constant willingness to fight back"

Well, unless the auditing flattened that turn the other cheek engram. :confused2:

LOLOLOL! This is great. It is a perfect example of the value of scientology: a worthless, badly manufactured, useless piece of metal.

The person that got awarded this (after donating who know how many thousands of $$) had gotten so disillusioned with the cult that they literally threw it out.

And the current bid? $1.04. :roflmao:

I am deeply curious as to whose this was.

    Person died? Left in disgust?
