I'll bite ... why?
Seen better days perhaps? The same would apply to me and I don't wish to be unkind to the ungoogled Clara Peller whoever she is.
This is what Scientology reminds me of:
One day though, Ernie came across a dark opening in his world..
Where he witnessed a strange sight! He saw others of his kind, shackled, facing a blank wall of flickering light.Ernie noticed with curiosity that they stared fixedly at the shadows cast on the wall..… and muttered darkly amongst themselves about the images they were seeing. As Ernie looked on, the strange ones bickered about their world..
Over time though, Ernie started to find it less funny and even a little sad, for it seemed that this world of shadows was all they knew –
Little did he know at the time, but as it turns out Ernie had accidentally stumbled across his world’s version of Plato’s Cave.
Her Glory Days are all in the past....just like Scn.
I'm impressed that you immediately knew who she was.
Scientology reminds me of...
She's the "Where's the beef?" woman, from Wendy's hamburgers.
edited to add:
(Ooh,,, ya got me!)
Clara seems to have lived an honest hard working life providing for her family. Scientology is reminiscent of a lot of things but I don't think I'd lead with Clara.
Yep, "Where's the beef?"
I know, lame attempt at humor.
I told you I was trouble ruined it by figuring out who she was way too fast.

What you should have said in the first place...
Humor heals. Learn to laugh at yourself and your many moments of stupidity. I spend a lot of time laughing.
That sounds kinda preachy. I do believe if you can laugh at something, and I mean genuinely find humor, you own it. Tom Cruise probably needs to laugh at himself.
