One could argue that this is what your donations buy, all 100% based on LRH policy, on source and in ethics. This is how one treats a perceived enemy of scientology. You kool-aid drinkers still don’t get it by blaming the whole thing on Miscavige. Marty is fair game; he has no rights. By the way, I’ve officially resigned from the IAS, more on this later."

If this is real, this is a BIG deal. Who's next? :)

Synthia, for those of us who don't know who this guy is, would you please explicate?

    Thanks,

Why yes. Sorry. He has worked with the IAS as a big mover and shaker regging millions of dollars, mostly on the west coast.

There are MANY public who will not be regged by anyone else. He is a star with the IAS.

As I have never met him and only know of him, possibly others can tell their stories of him -- I'm an east coast gal. :) However, if this is real, it is huge.

Howard Becker was a huge non-so IAS reg in the LA area - raised many thousands if not millions for the ias along with Michael Roberts ( the black actor) by going to parishioners homes. A few years ago he moved to Flag - almost everyone in the LA area has been visited by him. Nice guy, but boy can he get the money out of you... simply amazing.

If I am not mistaken, he also dono'd so much of the commisions he earned, he was a patron meritorious. I liked him and Michael a lot. I think there is a picture of him in the IAS mag when he achieved that status.

I experienced one Howard Becker event. He was a crowd motivator and showman but I just didn't cotton to him.

If he has left this IS a good sign.

Do you think he got tired of hearing "We need more money for the documentary on Marty."

I like Michael a lot too. I wish he would leave. He gets run ragged by the IAS, frankly.

Synthia, I heard that Michael was pretty disaffected, but I am not sure, I was just checking on that for a posting about disaffected celebrities on my blog.

If anyone knows about him, please let me know.

On the other hand, playing the devil's advocate here, the comment he made on Marty's blog actually attacking those on the blog as kool-aid drinkers does not seem like something that guy would do as his first post.

It could be an OSA ploy. Who the hell knows in this sordid game. Thoughts from those who know him? It makes no sense to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire so quickly upon departure. Know what I mean?

So many times I've wanted to call him but just don't so that he doesn't get in trouble. Sheesh. Hopefully one day I will speak with him.

That koolaid comment got me too - it isn't the sort of term a sino would use unless they are disaffected or OSA bots. I never heard it used anywhere on lines untill I was out on the net.

Yeah, the more I look at this comment, the more bogus it seems.

You know, all one would have to do is call the Flag IAS office and ask about his status, or ask for his # cause you want to talk about upping your status.... you'd get through to him pretty fast.

I've now decided that I am officially calling foul. I think OSA is messing with Marty, et al. I hope I am pleasantly surprised. I now think it's BS.

Yeah Howard was really one of the big guns for IAS. That's amazing if this is of real. These big reggers are going to have a serious hangover when they wake up. I can't imagine the feeling of sucking millions out of people and causing untold financial crisis and to then realize it was only a scam.

BTW does anybody know how many of the really big time reggers there are? In LA and on Feewinds I ran into Ted Bragen who was probably the best conman I've ever met. Bridgette worked with him but wasn't nearly as good as Ted - if good is the right word. There was one guy named Rob "Boson" - maybe - who was extremely creepy, and you would often see Michael and Howard roaming the grounds. Also a couple of Aussies including Jane who was I/C of IAS-WUS and another Aussie who's name I can't remember but was their "financial specialist". What was the flag scene like?

Just curious because it really seems like a small group so if they lost Howard then it's a big deal.

This is one reason I think Marty's board is a good thing. By scio definition that's just a "natter board" too, but one where "still ins" might sneak a peak at where they might never come here. I think A LOT of people know Howard and more importantly the big spenders.

And also I think the "Squirrel Busters" just might end up being an ENORMOUS foot bullet. I mean how many people with "lofty intentions" and are in scn to save the universe or whatever can look at that and still think this organization has a shred of credibility or competence? On the outside we've become used to the bizarreness but I think DM has crossed the Rubicon with this one.

    I agree with you.

Having been in the IAS myself, I know that there are only about 30 what you would call heavy hitter fundraisers for the IAS globally.

The more I look at the message, the more it seems fake though. I don't think, as a first post, he would come out and say what he did. It's BS, I think. Unfortunately.

Well it sure will be interesting if it is the real Howard Becker. If it is or isn't, I'm sure his house is surrounded right now by OSA bots trying to find out also.

The cult is often the last one to know when someone has left, often reading about it on one of the blogs along with the rest of us.

Yep. Interesting. Just seems he would have made a more grandiose first impression, by way of introduction (while not being on the attack) however, I thought the same thing about Bill Franks.

:confused2: Only time will tell. Even if it's not true, the fence sitting lurkers may find that quite motivational. The OSA strategies and tactics are a double-edged sword that usually morph into a foot bullet. So, true or not, it still has impact.

BTW Jason Beghe had a nice zinger on the same thread:

"That’s when I realized that in my relationship with the “church” I had been married to one crazy fucking bitch. After nearly 8 months of “We love you, we need you, you need us, we’re so sorry, please give us another chance, you are so important to us” they immediately flipped to “we hate you, you’re evil, we will destroy you”. It was exactly like the Glenn Close character in “Fatal Attraction”-violent, insane, pathetic and dangerous."
