A woman, age 30, died late last night or during the night at Narconon Zutphen in the Netherlands. She was found dead this morning.
    The police is investigating.
That is all I know for this moment.

One article (all articles were very small!) headed "Rehabilitation centre morns over dead woman."

In another a police spokesman said it was probably her bad condition causing her death.
In a few days the autopsy report will give answers to the cause of her death, he said.

I can't find any articles on this, Navy. Is this on the net yet? If so, could you please post a link (don't care if it's not in English) - and thanks so much for posting that. How tragic.

They've bribed the police? Wonder what those a**holes will come up with in response to more press. Especially IF the woman had a "bad condition" the Purif would hardly be medically recommended. :grouch:

Did anyone mention to the police that Narconon people have to be in a sauna for up to 5 hours per day and take up to 5 grams of Niacin?

Did she sign the ubiquitous disclaimer document to not hold Narconon responsible for anything that happened to her?

    @ Kerry:

Try "narconon dood" in Google. It gives some links to nes agencies an news papers, all with the same article.

    @ Alonzo:

The person posting as scientologate on ARS is in contact with the media and gives them the information, including the story about a young men peeing blood during his treatment in NarCONon.

    @ Kerry:

She probably did. But in Holland there is a law protecting against unjust agreements/disclaimers. Narconon is obliged to tell everything in the disclaimer: what they do, what treatment is being practiced, the risks of being put in the sauna for hours, the risks of overdoses niacin, etc. If they didn't, they are in big trouble and the disclaimer isn't worth the paper it was written on.

Thanks, Navy. Hopefully by tomorrow there will be more on this death at Narconon Zutphen. Or soon.

CoS seems to be footbulleting all Over the place - mayors' offices in the U.S., this apparently Narconon-related death, the ruined film in Berlin, the leaks to youtube and elsewhere of cult "events," and so on.

Is everybody in that cult close to DM and in ever diminishing circles going to end up in the gulags?

Might be worth asking Karin Spaink to look into it (www.spaink.net). This would be right up her street.

Navy, have you heard any more on this awful news?

I am sure Karin knows. scientologat has contacted her also.

Someone who knew her posted a comment on one of the news paper sites.
He said she was a very nice person and was in Narconon for some time now. He assumed she was no longer in the sauna regime. He asked to please burn a candle for her.

Official news is not available yet.

A news paper article says it is possible the woman died because of drug abuse!
"We can not patrol the premises 24/7. And drugs are available also in the streets of Zutphen", Joanna Kluessien, head of NarCONon said.
NarCONon says it will intensify the anti-drug campaign because of this incident.
The woman was 8 months in rehab.

Yea, NarCONon works! It is the best rehab facility in the world!

Why CAN'T they patrol the premises 24/7? Stats down much?

They would have to blame it on drugs even if it wasn't related at all to drugs because any other reason would make it a lot worse for them.

Yeah, the best rehab in the world with the highest success rate ever in the entire galaaaxy.

8 months in "rehab" at NN and she still has to sneak out at night to get a hit. Doesn't sound like it was working!

The woman is from Greece and will buried there when her body is released by the authorities.
She was doing very well, was eating well and regained her condition, an article in a local new paper said. The other 25 in the rehab center were devastated by her death.
"Patients are only allowed to visit the town when accompanied by staff, but", said Joanna Kluessien, "we do not lock our doors, so she could have gone out at night."
She was very pleased the police and authorities do everything to find out what caused her death.

    Incongruent.

    ETA:

I don't believe they don't lock their doors at night or any other time.

For security reasons fire or escape doors are never locked. So it is easy to sneak out when nobody checks them.

Thanks, navy. I'm finding this story really hard to digest.

For me, what you said above gets back to: why aren't the exits staffed 24/7. If they knew anything about drug addicts you'd think they'd know they will often reach a point where they can't tolerate the cravings, and if there isn't adequate onsite medical care and tranquilizers ("psych drugs") administered to quell those cravings, gradually decreasing them in the initial stages of withdrawal, it can not only be an extremely horrible and possibly moving into a psychotic experience for someone, it can be fatal.

Thanks again for the updates on this.

You're welcome. And you are right!
Point is, she was there for 8 months! When I stopped abusing heroin, it took me less than that. On the other hand: It is strange nobody is on watch during the night. No escape doors secured, electronically or otherwise. And nobody checked during the night and found her missing.
    Very odd.

Bingo. So what did whoever, including her if that was the case, get for expensive NarCONon services? :duh:
